Growing homeless tent city behind Del Monte warehouse in the fenced off area.
  • 1301 3rd St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
Disability Commisissioner Hall has been trying to get abandoned bike removed from sidewalk in front of Encinal Swim Center since June. No help from swim center or police. It is bolted to hcp sign post. please remove.
  • 1198 Park St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
The newspaper boxes outside the laundromat are broken, filled with trash, and covered with graffiti. This is an excellent location for newspaper boxes, as the folks using the laundromat would buy newspapers to read while doing their laundry, so please don' t remove these boxes, just fix them and clean them of trash and graffiti and have the newspaper vendors actually fill them and make sure the coin changers work.
  • 800 Taylor Ave Alameda, California - Alameda

    Thu, 11/9/17
    7:45 am

Crossing guard at crosswalk at Taylor/Eighth entered the walk with sign raised and stopped traffic to allow a mounted cyclist traveling west on Taylor, on the roadway, to cross Eighth, and proceed on Taylor.

A mounted cyclist is not a pedestrian.
A mounted cyclist on the roadway is a 'vehicle' under California Vehicle Code.
It seems some remedial training for crossing guards is in order.

  • 1527 Park St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda

There is a total traffic enforcement s***show going on in Alameda today. This is specifically for the east end but I am sure these problems are widespread across every neighborhood in Alameda.

Consistently there is a load of traffic laws being broken out here on a daily basis. We have a serious problem with speeders, red light and stop sign runners, people who refuse to yield to pedestrians, people who block sidewalks and driveways with their vehicles etc due to APD's total refusal to enforce traffic laws in our neighborhood.

Today, during my 10 minute walk through this neighborhood on my way to work from my home, I encountered an Audi completely blocking the sidewalk at Broadway and Central. I attempted to report it to APD dispatch but the dispatcher was being rude and difficult so I just hung up.

Then as I was walking down the street I saw countless vehicles speeding and running stop signs between Broadway and Park at the various intersections down Central.

Then as I was walking on Park, I was standing on the corner of I believe Santa Clara and Park and my light turned green. I began crossing and as I was crossing, some bicyclist literally came like 2 centimeters from my face as he blew right past me and threw the red light. If I had stepped forward a split second earlier, he would have clipped me, probably knocked me over and possibly broke some of my bones/killed me while I had the right of way to cross the street.

Then as I was standing at the bus stop I saw the audi I tried to report earlier driving into the gas station, knowing full well that they were not cited at all for blocking the sidewalk earlier due to APD's total refusal to enforce the law in our neighborhood.

This area is turning into a lawless motorpocalypse of vehicles making up their own rules and doing whatever they want. As I was going to work down Buena Vista I saw a neverending row of cars running stop signs all down Buena Vista all the way to Sherman. It's unbelievable. Not a cop in sight. Blight and crime everywhere.

Clean up alameda now. Sick and tired of this c.r.@.p

  • Constitution Way And Marina Village Parkway Alameda, California - Alameda
My husband was hit while crossing Constitution at Marina Village Parkway this morning after dropping our two year old off at preschool. The driver immediately left the scene. My husband and daughter are nearly hit almost daily at this intersection as people turn right on the red to go into the tube. I urge the city to change this light to a "No Turn on Red" intersection, post "School Zone" signage to remind drivers to be cautious and look for young children, and to increase the traffic police presence during morning commute times.
  • 2320 San Antonio Ave Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
The newspaper boxes on this corner are broken, filled with garbage and booze bottles, and covered in graffiti. I just want to be able to buy the Alameda Journal from this stand, so please have these boxes fixed and painted rather than removed.
  • 1045 Ca-260 Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
Homeless encampment. Webster Tube Side under overpass in line with Chase Bank. Quite hidden. Numbers are growing and this is dangerous for vehicles.
  • 747 Eagle Ave Alameda, CA - Alameda
Every night between midnight and sunrise there are people having sex in the parking lot at Eagle Village, they leave dirty condoms all over the parking lot. There’s never patrol cars in the area at night. They leave empty drug baggies, liquor bottles, piles of tobacco from blunt wraps and they are not residents. There’s often a blonde Caucasian woman out there in the parking lot often during these hours and goes back and forth from one car to another. Three cars out there in a row, with people inside, no parking permits, all idling. She is not a resident and it appears she’s turning tricks. Maybe schedule your housing officer to be on the beat when he’s actually needed. The police dept knows there’s an on going problem in the area, when people were dumping stolen cars they would sit in the parking lot in the daytime. This is happening on the constitution side. I also don’t want to hear call us when it happens because this is a nightly occurrence and I’m not risking my life to assist APD to do their job. There’s been a homocide and multiple robberies within a block within this year. You know the area is a problem and often with people coming in from tube.
  • 1511 Park St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
the homeless encampment that has been reported at this location thousands of times by hundreds of residents for the past several years remains a blight to the community. APD has done absolutely nothing to clean up the encampment. They continue to loiter at this location, abusing dru.g.s and alcohol, urinating and defecating on the street, and bothering law abiding residents as they walk down this street. We are tired of the smell, we're tired of the trash, we're tired of YOU Alameda Police, the most worthless police department in American history. You are a disgrace to the good name of law enforcement officers nationwide.
  • 1800 Webster St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Noticed on bike to work day that there were many motorists on Webster Street going over 50 mph. One ran a red light at high speed at least three seconds after the light turned red. Very dangerous conditions for everyone. Could we please see some early morning traffic enforcement? The speeding was so blatant that motorists seem to know that there is little early morning enforcement.
  • Wine And Waffles 1505 Park St, Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
this issue has been repeatedly reported by various residents in the area for I believe the past couple of years now (possibly longer than that). APD have been conveniently closing these reports, all of which are essentially duplicates of the exact same issue, so that it looks like the city resolved the problem (despite the fact that they never actually did) and it doesn't even show up on the site anymore. This way, users have to report it all over again every half year or so as APD continue ignoring the problem and letting homeless take over the neighborhood. One homeless man in particular has been hovering around this block for at least a year now (maybe 2 years or even longer?) He has a habit of not wearing shoes so that people going to the restaurants in the area can enjoy the appetizing scent of his sweaty feet, coupled with the wonderful aroma of his urine and possibly other bodily fluids/various garbage that he and his fellow homeless friends so graciously donate to our island every day. Glad to know APD is still ignoring this issue even after years of repeated reports from God knows how many other neighbors. Great job! Keep up the fine work not enforcing any laws and letting criminals do whatever they want with impunity to our once-lovely island community!
