  • Encinal Basin Near Wind River Alameda, California - Alameda
Another boat has been docked in the Encinal Basin now for about a month. It is a larger white boat with what looks they took the top of a trailer and attached it to the boat . The boat also has a small dingy boat tied to the side of the large boat that they use to access land.
  • 3349-3381 Bridgeview Isle Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
Attached is just one picture representing many areas of the deteriorating sea wall along Ravens Cove Townhomes. There are many places on both sides of the wall where the steel rebar is visible and is rusting because the cement wall has not been maintained or waterproofed.
This was reported over a year ago to a city worker who was painting over the graffiti and no action has been taken.
  • 1435 Webster Street Alameda, California - Alameda
The empty lot and the area around it need a complete cleaning. There is trash, liquor bottles, surgical gloves and countless piles of dog poop. Some of it is on private property and some on public property. There is also graffiti on the property. The sidewalks are filthy. Is this the best that the City of Alameda can do? This hurts the neighborhood and local business.
  • 2388 Mariner Square Drive Alameda, California - Alameda
Homeless camp expanding in this area. Two pit bulls running unleashed. Trash dumped along Marina Village Parkway.

  • 720 Atlantic Avenue Alameda, California - Alameda
I have witnessed enough drivers making right turns off of Webster onto Ralph Appezzeto, and those turning right off of Ralph Appezzeto on to Webster, who are not observing pedestrians in the crosswalks that I am taking the time to write. Today was the most dangerous I have seen. A co-worker was almost hit by two autos --the lead car making a right turn off of Webster onto Ralph Appezzeto, and the car behind that followed -- were both traveling fast, and neither observed the pedestrian walk sign or my co-worker step off the curb. I saw it all from the same cross-walk coming from the opposite side of the R A Parkway. I have too often had to catch the eye of drivers making turns on both corners. I know all police departments are challenged with never enough staff available to help every traffic situation, but this intersection could use whatever help you can provide. Perhaps, just their presence at that corner can help. Drivers are simply not looking for pedestrians making the initial cross in the designated walk on those corners.
    My thanks for your time,
    Cheryl Peel
  • 1501 Webster Street Alameda, California - Alameda

There is ground in grease in numerous locations on the west side of Webster Street between Santa Clara Avenue and Haight Avenue. It is very dirty. Similar conditions exist along other stretches of Webster. How often is the street power washed or otherwise deep cleaned? It really needs a good scrubbing.

Not sure which category this should have been filed under, so I used this one. There used to be a category of PW-Other, but that has been removed.

  • 2320 San Antonio Ave Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
The newspaper boxes on this corner are broken, filled with garbage and booze bottles, and covered in graffiti. I just want to be able to buy the Alameda Journal from this stand, so please have these boxes fixed and painted rather than removed.
  • 1198 Park St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
The newspaper boxes outside the laundromat are broken, filled with trash, and covered with graffiti. This is an excellent location for newspaper boxes, as the folks using the laundromat would buy newspapers to read while doing their laundry, so please don' t remove these boxes, just fix them and clean them of trash and graffiti and have the newspaper vendors actually fill them and make sure the coin changers work.
  • 1107 Broadway Alameda, California - Alameda
This property is a total disaster. People drive up in their cars and dump stuff on the property, which owner collects, then holds garage sales, fixes cars and dumps the oil in the drain. How much longer is the city allowing this to happen to this property? If a car is parked more than 72 hrs they get a ticket however, this property collects JUNK, FIXES CARS, TAKE A WALK BY THE PROPERTY. Maybe the property owner is friends with someone in the city and therefore he does not get fined. I have called code enforcement and the police and nothing happens. Why is person not fined or summons? I thought if you do business in your home and in city of Alameda you needed a license or a permit which he does not have. What is the next step?
  • 1081 Independence Way Alameda, California - Alameda
Speeding cars on Independence in the morning during morning commute hours.
Drivers have learned they can go around to the back of the tube and bypass some traffic congestion on Webster by taking Independence. I walk to work and see cars most workdays doing 35 MPH minimum down this street. Maybe for 1-2 weeks you can park one of those portable devices that reads and posts the speed? Then follow up with a traffic motorcycle officer to drive (pardon the pun) the message home. Thanks!
