Notified About

  • 1501 Webster Street Alameda, California - Alameda

There is ground in grease in numerous locations on the west side of Webster Street between Santa Clara Avenue and Haight Avenue. It is very dirty. Similar conditions exist along other stretches of Webster. How often is the street power washed or otherwise deep cleaned? It really needs a good scrubbing.

Not sure which category this should have been filed under, so I used this one. There used to be a category of PW-Other, but that has been removed.

  • 2320 San Antonio Ave Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
The newspaper boxes on this corner are broken, filled with garbage and booze bottles, and covered in graffiti. I just want to be able to buy the Alameda Journal from this stand, so please have these boxes fixed and painted rather than removed.
  • 1198 Park St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
The newspaper boxes outside the laundromat are broken, filled with trash, and covered with graffiti. This is an excellent location for newspaper boxes, as the folks using the laundromat would buy newspapers to read while doing their laundry, so please don' t remove these boxes, just fix them and clean them of trash and graffiti and have the newspaper vendors actually fill them and make sure the coin changers work.
  • 1081 Independence Way Alameda, California - Alameda
Speeding cars on Independence in the morning during morning commute hours.
Drivers have learned they can go around to the back of the tube and bypass some traffic congestion on Webster by taking Independence. I walk to work and see cars most workdays doing 35 MPH minimum down this street. Maybe for 1-2 weeks you can park one of those portable devices that reads and posts the speed? Then follow up with a traffic motorcycle officer to drive (pardon the pun) the message home. Thanks!
  • Sherman Street At Wind River Del Monte Building Alameda, California - Alameda
There were a number of homeless encampments growing at the rear of the Wind River parking lot and inside the fenced off open field area between Wind River and Del Monte building. Police worked with these folks and eventually had them leave this week and cleaned up all garbage left. Some have returned but now have cut a large hole in the fence and are camping inside the fenced area. They also cut the gate lock to the fenced area.
  • 1045 Ca-260 Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
Homeless encampment. Webster Tube Side under overpass in line with Chase Bank. Quite hidden. Numbers are growing and this is dangerous for vehicles.
  • 1800 Webster St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Noticed on bike to work day that there were many motorists on Webster Street going over 50 mph. One ran a red light at high speed at least three seconds after the light turned red. Very dangerous conditions for everyone. Could we please see some early morning traffic enforcement? The speeding was so blatant that motorists seem to know that there is little early morning enforcement.
  • 1809-1812 Balsa St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
Homeless encampment inside the Del Monte building loading dock area. There is a large unleashed pit bull living there too!
  • Central Ave. Heading Towards Webster St. Before Caroline St. Alameda, California - Alameda
Citizens of Alameda expect your garbage bill to go up! Alameda has a major problem with the illegal dumping and people stealing recycling materials such as cans and bottles out of garbage cans for their OWN PERSONAL GAIN. I called Alameda PD on the non-emergency phone number at 12:44pm today to report a person taking recycling out of garbage cans on Central Ave. The woman who answered did NOT take my phone # or name. Do the police care? I called back at 12:48 pm to report I would be putting a picture of the woman on SeeClickFix.
  • Intersection Of Packet Landing Road And Centre Court Alameda, California - Alameda

Safety issues caused by red zone violations on either side of Centre Court intersection with Packet Landing Road, creating zero visibility when exiting or entering Centre Court. Occurs twice weekdays, at beginning and end of school at nextdoor Earhart Elementary school, with mostly the same few parents using Centre Court red zones as parking spaces for average 20-30 minutes per vehicle.

I personally stopped by police station to report on 11/8 (incident 1C 117), and newly assigned officer told me it was the first he'd heard of problem (although familiar with similar issues at BayFarm school), and emergency work permitting, that he'd try to come out in a week or 2, to ticket offenders; asking around and asking police, has not happened to date.

To demonstrate more than single incident of 11/8, I also called in violations to non-emergency police number on 11/14, 11/15, 11/16; police were unable to respond in the average 20-30 minutes vehicles remained in red zone. (I was told because drivers remained in vehicles, police needed to be dispatched, instead of parking enforcement.) I submitted photos of license plates of offenders to Harbor Bay Security, for their tracking & forwarding to police; these were mostly repeat offenders.

My request is to eliminate the safety issues of zero visibility caused by red zone violations, whether via ticketing offenders, blocking red zone with pylons that seems to be effective down the street in school red zones, or whatever it takes to fix.

  • 1501 Buena Vista Avenue Alameda, California - Alameda

An ongoing issue at Delmonte Werehouse located at 1501 Buena Vista Ave. Tractor and trailers operated by Oakland Transportation INC, CA# 0453410, are parked daily along Entrance Road. The commercial vehicles arrive at odd ours of the night. The vehicles often arrive betwen 10 pm and 12 AM, they resume operation between 4 am and 7 am.

Alameda Police has been called on numerous occasions and have noted the vehicles are illegally parked, but on private property. No action is taken, the problem continues.

Accoridng to Tim Lewis Home( current owners of the the Delmonts Werehouse) they are aware of the issue , but say Alameda will not allow them to erect fencing along Entrance road. In addition no parking signage is held up with the permit office.

This has been going on for over two years and this is not the first posting regarding this issue. Entrance road is zoned as a “Residential Neighborhood”. The noise associated with this issue is disruptive, and their vehicles unslightly in a residential area.
