Notified About

Cars constantly park illegally in the no standing zone on Ellsworth Ave nearest Whalley Ave making it difficult to turn the corner from any direction. Many are parked to visit either the Check Cashing center or A-1 Oriental Kitchen (or one of the other small stores in the lot). Please have the parking authority investigate and/or handle the matter.

  • Jewel St. New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
Two 18 wheelers are parked on Jewel St. near the cemeteries. One of them, marked WERNER, with Nebraska plate W17940, has been parked here for about a week. I have called the nonemergency police number twice about this truck. I don't see a ticket on the windshield. Also, a second truck, marked D.F. Carriers from Lowell, MA, plate 24 34276, is there today as well. We have been through this problem before and the police have been responsive in the past. I don't know why nothing has been done this time around.
  • 100 Jewel St. New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
At 3:15 today, I turned from Whalley up Jewel St. When I approached Beecher School, buses were waiting outside the school and five cars were parked on the opposite side of the street, 3 of them facing the wrong way. This is a no parking zone all together. Since the new curbstones were put in last summer, cars are now parked right in the street instead of off to the side of the road. It is difficult to travel through the line of buses and the illegally parked cars in front of the school. One partial solution would be to have the buses discharge and pick up children in the back of. the school where there is plenty of room to do so. That wouldn't solve the car parking problem, but perhaps parking tickets would. This has been reported for several years yet the city doesn't act on it.

The speed bump on Carmel and Goffe have no pavement markings. Please come and mark them
  • Whalley Ave & Ella T Grasso Blvd New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Edgewood

Cars, motorcycles, and dirt bikes continue to be a problem all along Whalley Avenue — both high speed and excessive noise. Occurrence all day long and well into the night, particularly on weekends. Not only on Whalley, but also on Ella T Grasso Blvd.

I know cops are busy, but there is zero enforcement of the speed limit here. Does the city have an ordinance against excessive noise? The vehicles are so loud they can be heard well back into the neighborhoods.

This area is residential as well as commercial and this is both a quality of life and a safety issue.

  • 383 Whalley Avenue New haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills

  • 10 Jewell Street New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
There is a gentleman that walks several different dogs throughout the day. He does not pick up the dogs' waste and leaves huge piles in the grass. There are children, teachers, etc. who need to walk through the area to get to the school and I won't tell you how many times we've had students arrive in our classroom with the waste of the bottom of their shoes. Please clean up after your dogs!!
