I just witnessed about a dozen people on dirtbikes and quads tear through our neighborhood directly in front of a police car. The office hit his siren once and followed ambivalently as they sped away against traffic, on sidewalks, nearly causing an accident at the corner of Winthrop and Chapel. You could still hear them a minute later, presumably all the way to Whalley. This is out of f'in control and ridiculous! How is it our police force cant stop a bunch of idiot teenagers riding around on these things? Someones going to get really hurt one day when they cause an accident or lose control of their ride. I think its time for the police to reexamine their "no chase" policy, clearly relationship building and stakeouts aren't working. It's only June and this issue is out of hand, worse than its been in previous years. Cant we basically just station officers at all the major intersections in the neighborhoods they like to frequent and blockade them in, then arrest and seize the bikes/ quads? Something else needs to be done.

Hi, I am writing to ask the police officer assigned to the new Stop & Shop on Whalley Avenue if he would spend some time at the south end of the plaza as well, near the laundromat.

Today, July 3, in the afternoon, round 3 or 4 pm, a woman helped a young boy pee on the sidewalk on Elm St, on that side of the shopping plaza.

There is a bathroom in Stop & Shop, not sure of the laundromat.

If it had been so, so urgent that there was not time to make it to the bathroom, this woman could at least have protected this little boy's dignity a little by finding a more discreet location.

It was flagrant, peeing in a big arc so that if you were had bicycled by on Elm you probably would have caught some on your shoe.

I was walking and couldn't go by on the sidewalk at all because of it.

The way this woman did this , I figured that it wasn't an ER, that she would have done it only because the bathroom was too much trouble to walk to, or because she thinks boys shouldn't have to use bathrooms at all.

it was really disgusting and I would appreciate it if the PD, who are always in Stop & Shop, and their security too, could make their presence known a lot on this end of the plaza too. the laundromat there attracts some bad behavior. Thanks.

I would love to see a dedicated lane for turning from northbound grasso blvd. left onto chapel. A line of cars get stuck behind the waiting turning car, while other cars speed by (way too quickly for a residential neighborhood), driving in the parking lane.

This light blue 3 family I guess has been a drug/prostitute house the entire 5 years that I lived nearby. There is someone selling drugs or sex there all the time. The whole neighborhood knows about it because the prostitutes are loud and people get shot there consistently. You would think that it was legal because they don't try to hide it. I have heard gunfire from outside of this house countless times. The day I moved out my neighbor and I heard what sounded like a machine gun coming from behind this house. I don't understand why the cops aren't arresting the dealers/hookers and kicking them out of the neighborhood. That one house is the worst one on that block and drags down the whole neighborhood. And while you are there, put a garbage can out on each of those corners so that the street isn't filled with trash.

At 7:00 on Wednesday evening, April 3rd, three students from the Troup school were throwing glass from the driveway of the school out onto Beers Street, breaking bottles in the street, and VERY narrowly missing hitting a woman with a baby in a stroller walking south on Beers. This was reported to the school, and the principal is aware of the identities of all three students involved.

This happened during a large evening activity of some kind at the school.

There needs to be a police presence around this school when there are evening activities.

Last summer and this past winter, several "light the night" installations were made, increasing light on George St and Day St. The trees alongside the property on the corner of George and Day are blocking this light and keeping the sidewalk and property in the dark. There has been a recent string of incidents, including vandalism and theft and more lights are being installed. If the trees block the light, then their light goes to waste. Also, old branches are falling into the sidewalk during inclement weather and large branches are intertwining with the wires. These trees need to be trimmed to allow light to pass, and prevent a branch from falling or taking down a powerline.
