This complaint is directed specifically at the grotesque and disturbing images of protesters in front of Planned Parenthood, not at the issue of abortion in itself. This morning, my twelve year old daughter was exposed to a graphic image of an aborted fetus -- clearly a human form -- torn into pieces. My child is not even of the age to watch a PG-13 movie. How is this possibly an acceptable image in a public space? Her face fell, she almost started crying. She will never unsee the image. This was on our way to school. She will think of this image at school. Whatever your beliefs, you must see that this is entirely inappropriate for a child. Keep the pictures of Mary, of moms and babies, but remove the graphic images. This image harmed my child. They are hurting our children with their aggressive tactics.
  • 146 Cottage Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Rock
We have seen people climbing up to the second floor window to get in because he said his landlord threw him out and he needed to get his stuff. the cellar windows on street level are out and we see people squeezing in and out of them. This has been going on at least since the springtime. We have seen lots and lots of people constantly going in and out. The grass is uncut, currently they're digging up something in the back yard. We own the building next door, 140 cottage, we rent to Yale people and they are all complaining.

There is a decomposing body of a deer that is stuck in the rock Jetty at Pardee Seawall Park. Has been stuck over a week, not washing away with the tide! Please remove.
  • Snow plowing Archived
Bradley Street New Haven, CT - SOHU
Why do the snow plow drivers push all the snow from the empty (banned) side of street towards the even side completely burying cars? Wouldn’t it make more sense to push th snow to the odd (empty) side so you could get right up to the curb and give thee residents a break from haviving to dig out from 3 foot high 3 foot wide snow burms the plows created against our cars!!
  • Meadow Walk New Haven Connecticut - Fair Haven Heights

Last summer this issue with these people playing very loud music was reported here by someone else. It's the same issue again. https://seeclickfix.com/issues/2937077-policing-issue

They're at it again. It is 1:30 a.m. and it's so loud you can hear it all over the neighborhood from Foxon to Hemingway and a guy gets on a MC'ing mic which is ridiculously loud. They should have been told last year that they have to stop at 11:00 p.m.. Rock concerts are stopped at 11:00 in residential areas and it's why the Yale Bowl stopped having rock concerts many years ago. This is no different.

Aren't citations issued, especially for repeat offenders? If they had been told last year then they should know. We're not going to go through this all summer again. People deserve their sleep! Shutting windows doesn't help even as far away as I am, but it's also warm now and everyone doesn't have air conditioning. Either way what they're doing is wrong, inconsiderate and selfish. This is not a rare event such as two times per summer. This is often and it hasn't always been on just Saturday nights and I recall more than one night in row several times.

It's around some apartments between Foxon and Hemingway St on the right side headed south. I reported it to the police. Please enforce these issues. Some people do have to get up early in the morning.

  • Osborn Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
There is an abandoned gas station at the corner of Osborn Avenue and Blake. Neighbors have complained about this gas station for years and nothing is done about it. Now, it is full of leaves, garbage and someone sprayed graffiti all over it. It looks AWFUL and gives the neighborhood a bad feel. We are sick of this. This property either needs to be cleaned up or more importantly thrown down and maybe a nice park put in its place. We take pride in this neighborhood and this gas station just doesn't belong here.
  • PROSTITUTES Archived
Winthrop Ave New Haven, CT, USA - Edgewood
Pimps on bikes. Prostitutes all time of day and night. Pimps and prostitutes sitting on porches, all times of the day and overnight, in residential area in front of homes with families and small children! Black and white women. Today, Caucasian woman on corner or Winthrop and Maple waving to men in cars passing by, in front of children playing. Pimp on bike came by to talk to her. WE NEED MORE PRESENCE OF COMMUNITY AND POLICE. Please send police to Winthrop Avenue!
  • Sea Street New Haven, Connecticut - Hill
Drivers are routinely making illegal left turns traveling northwest on Sea St on to Ella Grasso Blvd. Not only does this hold up traffic through the intersection, a driver behind a left-turning vehicle has to stop suddenly when the car in front stops unexpectedly. I have watched several close calls coming from the other direction, and had my own close calls when drivers don't signal their intentions and just stop to wait to make the turn. There needs to be much more enforcement in this dangerous intersection.
  • Ferry St New Haven, Connecticut - Chatham Square
The prostitution, drug sales & use of drugs has become highly visible along Ferry St. Especially Chapel St intersection through
Peck St. Toni Harp and the narcotics unit need to start riding by so you can see what's going on our streets so you can take action before we make national news again. The prostitutes and John's are coming in from the out skirts; we need to start exposing them, by arresting them and impounding their cars and posting the mug shots; maybe then they will think twice before coming to New Haven to do your dirt
  • 495 Blake St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Westville

This photo was not taken today and does not show the usual morning or late afternoon heavy vehicular traffic, but it does illustrate the intersection at Blake and Valley. On the right, is the Elm City Montessori School with a current preschool through elementary student population of approximately 270 kids. On the left is a surface parking lot that is often used as a cut-through by irate motorists who are frustrated by the frequent traffic back ups that occur here in the morning. Many of the students, including mine, walk to ECMS and cross this dangerous intersection at least twice a day. I have personally been hit three times over the past two years by vehicles piloted by drivers who either run the red light with the cross walk sign illuminated at this intersection or speed through the surface lot in their attempt to short cut the right turn from Valley to Blake. Thankfully, the incidents so far have been minor with no injuries beyond bruises and strained vocal cords. The recent addition of an illuminated "No Turn on Red" sign for those turning right from Blake to Valley has made a noticeable improvement. However, those coming from the opposite direction attempting to turn left from Blake to Valley, do not have an arrow, and often ignore the red light which endangers any pedestrians in the crosswalk. Similarly, those who use the surface lot as an auxiliary right turn lane, often do not watch for pedestrians on the sidewalk along Blake. My kids were almost hit this morning by someone speeding through the lot. I have witnessed near misses by other families crossing this intersection and have spoken to parents with similar concerns regarding the dangers here.

The convergence of significant vehicular and pedestrian traffic at this intersection, particularly in the mornings and late afternoons, warrants an immediate and comprehensive traffic engineering study by the City of New Haven. At a minimum, a left turn arrow for those vehicles turning left from Blake to Valley could be incorporated into the signalling system and would greatly reduce the danger to pedestrians at the crosswalk, as well as facilitate better and safer vehicular movement there. Removing the entry/exit and corresponding curb cut along Blake from the surface parking lot would regulate entry and exit to the lot from Valley Street and thus, eliminate the vehicular cut-through at that location. One could argue for a school crossing guard here, but I would contend that without the application of these two aforementioned basic changes to the intersection and parking lot, the underlying problems will continue to endanger those who use the crosswalks.

Apologies for the long-winded description, but these recommendations are reasonable and achievable. Immediate action needs to take place at the intersection of Blake Street and Valley road before we are faced with an avoidable tragedy.

  • 358 W Rock Ave New Haven, CT 06515, USA - Westville
They have been ripping up and down Whalley Avenue dangerously. And they keep coming back to this driveway to park. It is the home to the left of the light blue home if you're facing the home.

Overflowing trash cans in the pavilion area of East Rock Park’s College Woods. Animals are breaking into all the loose trash and spreading garbage all over the park. This is now happening EVERY weekend! I took this photo on Sunday morning, so the additional trash of an another entire day of weekend park visitors still needs to be accommodated. It’s a mockery of to all of us who work hard to keep our parks and public space clean. Our Youth at Work just spent all summer laboring to pick up trash in the park. Mayor Harp, Becky Bombero, what are you going to do to address this ongoing problem? The status quo is unsustainable and unacceptable.
