Notified About

  • 29 Union Street New Haven, Connecticut - Wooster Square
This is the 3rd time I have logged on over the past 2 months and NOTHING has been done to solve this problem. The sidewalk on Union street between Water and Fair Street is completely overgrown with bushes over 7ft tall and trash throughout. School starts next week and students will be forced to walk in the street as they can't pass there. The sidewalk and concrete barriers are collecting garbage and human waste from people who are starting to live there. Please come and attend to this immediately. School is starting!
  • 140 Bradley Street New Haven, Connecticut - SOHU

Every night around 530-630PM lately, there are almost no spots available on the State Street side of Bradley. I'm not sure if this is due to the crowd at Dashi, people visiting the bike shop or the combination of the two but something seriously needs to be done.

Why are violators never ticketed? I don't even remember the last time I've seen cars with tickets on them. Residents on Bradley would all appreciate some CONSISTENT enforcement. Please.

  • 56 Hillhouse Ave New Haven 06511, United States - Prospect Hill
Where are the in-street pedestrian crossing signs?
I watched a pedestrian stuck trying to cross Sachem at Hillhouse. No cars would stop for her - I actually had to stop traffic with my bicycle!
As I was cycling home through East Rock I wondered...where are all the in-street pedestrian crossing signs?
    I don't see them anywhere.
As someone who remembers a time when they weren't allowed in New Haven, having the in-street pedestrian signs regularly, proactively installed is a small but important victory for all of us in the traffic safety community.
  • Lane shift Archived
Whalley Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
Driving southeast on Whalley, the lanes shift at the light just before West Rock Ave. There are no markings on the pavement for guidance, so cars in the middle lane often shift to the left lane. I've been forced into oncoming traffic multiple times. Painting the lanes in the intersection would be extremely helpful.
  • 2-90 Sheffield Ave New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Prospect Hill

I am in wheel chair and I catch public transportation. Today, when I was trying to get on the bus, there was too much snow on the curb and the handicap access ramps on the curbs for the bus to be able to lower the handicap accessible ramp, for to be able to mount with my wheel chair. When the driver tried to lower the ramp, because of the snow, there was a gap of about an inch or so. This is very unsafe for me, as well as other citizens. Please address this immediately. My concern today was at the bus stop I was at; however, this is happening all over the city. There has to be a better and safer system, to protect all the city's citizens, in times of inclement weather.

Also, when it rains the water pulls at the end of the parking lot and drains into the bus stop. When the temperature is at freezing levels, this area turns into an ice rink. If I go over the curb to reach the bus, I can lose control of my wheel chair and slide directly into oncoming traffic.

  • Traffic/Road Safety Acknowledged
87-105 Sachem Street New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell
Please bring back the STOP sign at corner of Winchester and Sachem. There is bicycle traffic entering and exiting the Farmington Canal Trail here, and the pedestrian crosswalk does not provide enough protection. Cars traveling from Winchester used to have to come to a full stop, now they barely slow down if there is no pedestrian in crosswalk. This creates unsafe conditions for bike cross-traffic.
  • 28 Harbour Close New Haven, CT 06519, USA - City Point
Public Path behind city point condo complex blocked off-- construction apparently completed
  • 687-701 State Street New Haven, Connecticut - Downtown

If you are biking North on State St, the I-91 North Entrance (near Goodfellas) is a nightmare. Because of the speed on that section, bikes should stay all the way to the right, but then have to cross over the turn lane which tends to be very busy. Becomes awkward and dangerous for both the drivers and cyclists.

Really needs some sort of green painted bike lane for bikes that (obviously) want to continue straight on State St, not turn onto the highway.

  • Eld Street New Haven Connecticut - SOHU
Why is the City ticketing residential parkers when you have not had the permits available in a timely fashion (for years!)?? You are wasting everyones time by ticketing - I do not have the time or the desire to make a trip to city hall to contest an undeserved ticket, while I have submitted my paperwork for permits weeks ago and have not yet received them, (let's not even mention the nonfunctional online submission debacle) - These quality of life issues make residents angry and it makes the City administration appear incompetent. What is your solution??
  • 666 Ferry St New Haven, CT, 06513, USA - Fair Haven
There is a Homeless Camp that has been setup under the Bridge on the Corner of Ferry & Middletown Ave, if the city wouldn't allow a food truck there how is a homeless camp ok? this is too close for comfort to me and my small Grandbabies who are now Walking home from School thaks to BOE!!
  • My water this evening has an excessive amount of dirt in it. It is not suitable for drinking or bathing. This has happened in the past when the City has flushed fire hydrants in the area. Is the city actively flushing water pipes in East Rock? Will the City be compensating residents for the additional water usage to flush my house pipes so that the water is usable again?
  • 2055 Chapel St New Haven, CT 06515, USA - Westville
Somebody went up and over one of the new traffic calming islands, completely took out the Keep Right sign.
