  • 6915 South Crandon Avenue Chicago, Illinois - South Shore
There are two abandon buildings located on South Oglesby (6915-14 S.) These buildings are located right next to each other. There are individuals removing the contents, i.e., windows, doors, and so on. They have placed several mattresses in the alley, and all sorts of rubbish (starting at the gate next to the two abandon garages in the 6915 Oglesby/Crandon Alley. This is starting to become an eyesore and a problem. I would like to know if they have building permits to remove the contents. If they have a permit from the City of Chicago why don't they have a dumpster to discard the trash in.???

This is the second request - first one placed 11/23/17 - has been ignored.
  • 5417 S Drexel Ave Chicago, IL - Hyde Park

In the Drexel/Ingleside alley (the alley behind the odd side of Drexel) between 54th and 55th streets there are:
    - Wires drooping down to a level that they are almost hit by cars
    - Loose wires hanging down from many of the telephone poles to ground level where they can be touched - I have no idea if these are live phone/cable wires
    - Horrible rats nests of cables on the telephone poles showing years of neglect. If this is abandoned/old cable it should all be taken down/cleaned up because it is an eyesore and probably a maintenance nightmare
    - Plastic garbage bags being used to cover wiring junctions up on the same telephone poles, instead of proper wiring enclosures.

Whatever utility is responsible for these poles and this wiring is not doing its job - I suspect this is a safety issue, but even if it is not, it surely is degrading the quality/reliability of service delivered to these residents and at the very least is an eyesore.

  • 6900 - 7000 South Crandon Avenue Chicago, Illinois - South Shore
There is no signage for dog owners. There has been a tremendous amount of dog feces left in the yards. We have a tremendous number of new neighbors that walk their dogs but refuse to pick up after their dogs. The building owners who are responsible for these properties. They spend a large amount of money during the Spring, and Summer months to keep their yards well manicured. This type of neglect tends to attract rats. There should be at least two visible signage displayed on each block informing residents about their inability to clean up after their pets.
