Notified About

  • Beacon St Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville
There's a number of large potholes on Beacon St, primarily between Inman Square and Washington St, heading towards Porter Square. Many of these are towards the right hand side of the road where cyclists are expected to ride, but these potholes will eat a bicycle (and the rider!). I understand there may not be a lot we can do now, but something really needs to be done. Even though I know where most of these monsters are I still almost fall into them while riding up Beacon St.
  • There are a number of small to medium (i.e. damaging) potholes on this road. Drive slowly, some are unavoidable if there is oncoming traffic.

73 Vassar Street Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA - Mit
Pothole forming around a metal access panel, partially in north-side bike lane. Dangerous enough to catch a tire.
  • 278 Beacon Street Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville

I realize that Beacon Street someday will be reconstructed, but in the meantime I'm still commuting by bike down it every day, and my tires are maybe as wide as that banana. This pothole, or maybe one of the others like it, who knows, flatted me just the other day. It's enough of a hazard just biking around all the construction and traffic. Can't Somerville make an effort to keep the pavement intact and the debris swept?

Present conditions are worst between Park Street and Somerville Ave, but new holes open up every day.

many shallow potholes about 2" deep
  • Back St Boston, MA - Back Bay

Thank you to six building owners who, after one year of requesting the City of Boston's help and received none (not one penny of our 39% increase in tax dollars!!!), paid out of their pockets to repave portions of this alley. Here again proving that private citizens, not city government, do the right thing with out money. Boston, you should be ashamed of yourselves for taking more money and giving less. Ashamed!

Poorly repaired and 5 new potholes of similar size and depth riddle this alleyway. 3 FOOT X 1 FOOT pothole on Back Street between Hereford and Mass Ave along with huge depressions from the Boston's oversized garbage trucks bearing down and scarring this alley. It is dangerous condition and has taken dozens of tires, rims, bumpers, bikers and small children. Why is the only stretch of Back Street that has not been repaired and repaved??? Please HELP!!!

  • 15 Webster Ave Somerville, MA - Somerville

    Somerville DPW ticket #212963

The whole first block of Webster out of Union Square is terribly potholed. It seems like the entire right side of the street is just a disintegrating mess of old patch jobs. In some places, the potholes are so deep that you can see the cobblestones underneath. Bikes are left with the dubious choice of taking the whole travel lane during rush hour, or staying and riding over the potholes, trying not to be thrown off their bikes.

  • 10 Poplar Street Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville

Multiple large and deep potholes are making travel difficult on Linwood and Poplar streets in the vicinity of the former transfer station.

This area was used for the snow melter so the amount of water was very high. The pavement has started to disintegrate as a result.

21 Medford Street Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville
Severe and extensive potholes near the railroad tracks on Medford St create a hazard for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The potholes also create excessive wear-and-tear on vehicles. They also contribute to an uninviting and hostile atmosphere in the surrounding area and neighborhood. I would encourage the City of Somerville to move these potholes up on the priority list for patching this season.
  • 1751 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA 02140, USA - Agassiz-Harvard
When you depart from Harvard Square or when you are about to enter the Square, the road surface is the worst it could be. I know know why there are so many SUV's on the road. From Harvard to Porter Square, on both inbound and outbound, the condition of the road is disgraceful. Most of the issues are from places that utilities opened the road and the patch job was not done properly.
But never the less, someone is going to get hurt from a dodging pothole car.
  • Worst maintained road in the city... be very careful from Sullivan Station to Union Square, especially heading underneath the train overpass. Embarrassing!
