  • Sidewalk Repair Acknowledged
4 Hazel St Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
The sidewalk between 2a and 4 hazel street is in terrible condition. There are disabled and elderly people that use it and I've witnessed them almost fall several times and complain about it. I've personally tripped over it and twisted my ankle as well from it. Also, in winter, ice pools in the dips/cracks, creating an even bigger hazard. Please fix to keep the sidewalk safe for pedestrians!
  • Boston St & Bridge St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
There should be a pedestrian crossing light at the corner of Boston and Bridge Streets. I saw a younger woman today struggling to cross Boston Street with young children today. Crossing is problematic especially for elderly pedestrians walking to the Life Center on Bridge.
  • Pope St. Salem, ma - City of Salem
There is an abundance of blue insulation board all over Proctor and Pope Sts. that flew out of the Senior Ctr. construction area during the storm onto those streets, into the park on Mansell Parkway, onto people's properties, and along the fencing on the corner of Boston and Bridge Streets. It is everywhere and a true eyesore. It needs to be cleaned up. It is literally everywhere.
  • 100 Washington St Salem MA 01970, USA - City of Salem
This is an very busy tourist section between viewing the bewitched statue, the tours, and all the restaurants near. A crossing signal would be a great addition here especially with all the night life around here and many people walk home or to the hotel if local it would make it a lot safer the only crossing signals on this road are at the tavern in the square intersection and the intersection at the train station I think adding one in the middle would be smart and safer with the amount of people walking around that intersection and cars driving, its always a traffic jam.
  • Essex Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
For the past several nights a group of 3-5 homeless have taken up residence in the alleyway across from CVS on Essex Street bordering the new hotel construction. They have been arriving at 2:00 to 5:00 am each morning, yelling, arguing, swearing, screaming and littering. My family members have been awakened by them on each of the occasions. Many people live in the Condos and Apartments in this area and this is becoming a problem we need help controlling.
  • 79-99 Collins St Salem, MA 01970, USA - City of Salem
I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say thank you for the rapid repaving job on Webb/Collins/etc, but when is the crew coming back to finish the job?
  • 168 Bridge St Salem, MA 01970, USA - City of Salem
Please pass to the Salem PD: two drivers ran the red light while the crosswalk signal was lit (6:14am 1/12/17). I cross this intersection weekday mornings between 6:10-6:18 am and evenings between 5-7 pm. I see an average of 4 cars a week run the red light at this intersection. Twice between mid-November and end of December I was nearly Hit when crossing IN the crosswalk while the crossing light was ON due to drivers running the red light. This issue is getting worse. Despite the reflective clothing I wear drivers are ignoring the lights. Someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed. PLEASE do something to address this issue.
  • Lappin Park Salem Massachusetts - City of Salem
Pudgy old man sits at Lappin Park smoking cigars and taking pictures of women. When he puts out his cigar in the butt bin, the hot ashes float through the air and land on the grass. Glasses, shaved head, white goatee. Creepy.
  • 158 North St Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
I suggest using a smart traffic monitor at this intersection that would give more time to Rt 114 instead of School St and Orne St. Rt 114 has many times they volume of traffic whereas the side roads have very little traffic. This will alleviate the long traffic jams on both sides of Rt 114.
  • 60 Grove St City of Salem, MA - City of Salem
Salem oil and grease, there are train tracks that run along side the factory. Three years ago, after a smaller structure on the property was torn down, 21 black bags labeled "Danger Asbestos" were dumped along side the train tracks and against the fence of the Moose lodge parking lot. Some of these bags are open and can clearly see asbestos insulation inside. The bags have been there so long (despite me showing a Fire dept official who had just left the dispesary on Grove St, calls to the mayors office, board of health and the EPA) that they are wearing down and have rips and holes in them. There is a river right after where the bags were dumped, so for 3 years asbestos material has been exposed to not only those who park at The Moose, Eliot mental health services, but to the river as well. A quick google search tells me who owned the property 3 years ago and I'm sure tje city of salem can find out who tore down the third building on the salem oil and grease properry, as it was after this building was torn down the open bags of asbestos material appeared.
  • Franklin Street Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
We have not had crosswalks leading into the park all summer due to the street repaving. It has almost a full year without crosswalks. To a PLAYGROUND. Don't get me started on the sidewalks.... but can we at least get our crosswalks back? Thanks!
  • Norman Street Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem

    Good afternoon,

I have been wanting to input this recommendation for a while. There are two crosswalks within a few feet of one another in this intersection. One on Norman street near the post office and the next at the Washington Street intersection. It seems that there is always traffic back-ups because pedestrians are crossing at the Norman street crosswalk while the light is green and cars are taking a left onto Norman from Washington Street. This also presents a large safety issues for pedestrians and cars. Could I suggest removing the Norman street pedestrian crosswalk? There are two others further down the street. It would be safer if pedestrians followed the light at the intersection to advise when to cross rather then to enter into incoming traffic.
