Are we seriously putting the speed limit to 25 on Swampscott Rd? I think 40 is appropriate speed, but if you were going to lower it maybe 35 may have been more appropriate. Or are we trying to have a false sense of security now? Because that's all it is. What are you trying to accomplish by having it 25? Drunk drivers ate still going to knock poles over and go over the speed limit amongst other scenarios. And it is not a thickly settled. Government is not for telling us we need protection its for making sure things get done and things like this are not going to keep people safe. Personal responsibility!
These same cars seem to be parked in the 30 minute zone all day every day. Its very hard to find a parking spot now that's its October, Resident parking signs every where, Holyoke square is now restricted to Holyoke insurance and tour buses. How about putting in parking meters in those 30 minute spots on Gedney.
Coming from Canal St to turn to Mill St not working, arrow wont turn green, set in traffic for ever... also will do the same sometimes coming from East Washington St to go straight to Mill St. Please fix. Getting out of work is becoming frustrating dealing with traffic and now on top of it the traffic lights too.
6 Pope Street Proctor'S Ledge Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
Proctor's Ledge is a mess. It was promised to be kept well groomed, but half of the trees and shrubs are dead and it is inundated with weeds to the point it can't be distinguished where the weeds end and the shrubs begin. It is like that on Proctor St. as well. What a shame for relatives of ancestors. WHEN new trees and shrubs are planted, they will need to be kept up and watered.
Sidewalk trees are dying! Five trees on Flint St between Essex and Warren appear to be infected with a fungus. Their leaves turn brown and fall off. An additional six or seven trees on Essex (heading toward Highland Ave) and Warren are also affected. Is there a remedy?
With students now back at SSU, it has become apparent that there are a number of landlords renting apartments to more than the allowable number of tenants. And this past weekend, there were several large and loud alcohol-fueled parties resulting in disruptive crowds and lots of litter. At one location on Linden Street on Saturday at 11pm, there were approximately 40 drunk students acting in an antisocial manner. We know that the police need to be called when this happens. Can you please advise us on what other steps we should take to see longer-term solutions to this growing problem and greater accountability for landlords engaged in illegal renting? Also, is there a greater role that the SSU Police Department could play in responding to student parties held off campus and in holding SSU students accountable? We would appreciate your guidance.
Many people have requested information on repairs to Highland Ave and Boston St. The answer is always its been assigned. Today a new sidewalk is being put down in front of NSMC. The condition of the road creates a clear danger to people on the sidewalk so why are we not fixing the roads? It would be really nice if someone can answer this with an intelligent response with a timeline. Please. The section in question is the city's and has been in horrendous condition for over 5 years. If your answer is we are waiting on the state then please give updates on that process. I pay taxes to the city and state so provide some details.
