  • 9600 Martin Luther King Junior Highway Lanham, Maryland - Lanham-Seabrook
SHA's current rules require bike lanes on state roads that are worked on/upgraded in some capacity. This spot is one of silliest, not to mention most dangerous applications of these bike lanes. I cycle often, including in the Lanham area, and avoid MD-704 like the plague. The inconsistent bike lanes on this multi-lane 40 mph road with highway ramp beginnings and ends are a deadly accident waiting to happen (if it hasn't happened already). MD-704 should not be designated as a bike friendly road just because it has an inconsistent painted bike lane. Cyclists should be encouraged to go around this area, not through it and this bike infrastructure money should be spent on other smaller streets with lower speed limits.
  • 210 Indian Head Highway Fort Washington, Maryland - Fort Washington
There is always accidents happening on 210 that could be from fender benders to very fatal accidents. there has been 1,466 crashes and there has been six fatal crashes along the 21 mile range of the highway. The best practice solutions is to put meters on the parts of the highway where there are more frequent accidents and to see if they start to take effect. The actions that they have started to take is having community meetings on the accidents and deciding where to put those cameras.

    1. In the Civic Action Project, I'm going to focus on homelessness in my home town. Around this time of year I always think about the homeless because of the weather and resources they don't have.

    2. I think it's an important community need because there are so many people and families affected by homelessness in the region.

    3. If the community was addressed I think governors, government aide, and community outreach groups should be involved.

    4. I know there are outreach and community centers that help with the issue of homelessness, but getting the word out can be major in the community and help those that are in need.

    5. Yes, there are temporary shelters in PG County. Through the county all referrals have to be done thorough the Homeless Hot line directly.

Good Morning. Happy Belated Valentines Day! Happy President's Day! I hope all is well with you and your family with having enough supplies, and keep safe and warm during another 2016 snowstorm. SMILE

I understand from Joseph Porcelli of that there were snow shoveling volunteers on to assist the disabled and elderly. I am disabled woman living in the neighborhood. Then, I have an electric snow blower that is extremely helpful for a time as this. And, I make a great Russian Tea to keep you warm and full of Vitamin C. I am especially willing to give a couple of hours to a teenager who is trying to accumulate required community service hours for school.

If you can help, please respond. I am at 2603 Vicarage Ct., Bowie. I am so thankful for any and ALL help that I can get. The more who can help, the quicker the snow shoveling can get done.

    Very Grateful,
    Crystal A. Combs

  • Coventry Way & Rt 5 Intersection Clinton, Maryland - Clinton

At the intersection of Coventry Way and Rt 5. There are multiple deep potholes and ruts where pavement is missing. This is a problem thru out the entire intersection exchange under the overpass. The lines on the road have worn away. The combination of these 2 factors alone, are making it very dangerous to travel thru this intersection. It is due for new pavement.

Also, at this same intersection the light cycling after 10pm needs to be adjusted. Those ppl exiting off the hwy trying to go under the overpass left or right have to wait about 7 mins for the light to turn green, as the lights going thru Coventry way cycle thru 4 or 5 cycling before actually turning red.

Please look into those things. Thanks

  • Seat Pleasant Drive Seat Pleasant, Maryland - Carmody Hills-Pepper Mill Village
I would like to bring to the City's attention the number of signs posted along Seat Pleasant Drive. These signs display "Get Top $$$ 4 Your House Seller Pays No Fees 301-327-2153." The number of signs posted along Seat Pleasant Drive brings down the quality of the neighborhood and should be immediately removed by the business owner. If rebuilding Seat Pleasant is the plan and/or goal of the City, this type of advertisement should not be allowed to bring down the community, which this does. There should be a restriction on how these types of investors attempt to take over a neighborhood for profit. If any improvements are to take place, which most residents welcome, this is not the way in which it should be done. Remove the signs or have the investor who posted on almost every pole, take them down. Thank you!

Sidewalk is unsafe do to the fact that it has dropped at least 4 inches since I have been living in this home. I first reported this problem at least 6 years ago prior to a new computer system being installed in the county so I am told. No record of that report can be found. I recently reported this issue again case # 1700108868 with no information from the county whatsoever as to when I can get some help with this safety issue. As a longtime resident of PG County I would like to feel like my tax dollars would at least deserve a proper response to give some type of time line that was reasonable. I recently observed sidewalk repairs being done on Pittman Ave. which is 2 minutes around the corner walking and was told when I inquired that the County is 4 years behind and the work that I saw didn't even show in the system, which tells me the system doesn't keep proper records. Can I please get some help with the tripping hazard in front of my home.
