There are always mice and or rats going into the back of those houses starting at # 370. On Garbage day the amount of garbage overflowing is bringing more animals to the street. It's not properly stored in containers, it's overflowing. There is also a strong smell of gas between 350 and 370 Greenwich ave. The strongest around house # 370. And the smell of dog Feces is overwhelming in the same area.

  • Washington Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Hill

Does anyone know what to do with this issue?

My car was hit by a huge chunk of paving stones/debris from the back of a Tilcon truck when they were paving Washington Ave last month.
I pulled over to talk to one of the men in the traffic vests thinking that they were police or worked for the town — but the one I would up speaking with wasn’t. He actually was a contract worker and could barely speak English. I showed him the damage and he told me to “call the town.”

I know of some people who have had the damage to their cars paid for by the town from potholes and other such damage (road debris from the recent tornado also comes to mind). I don’t think it is fair to have to put a claim into my insurance and have to pay my deductible (I may as well just pay out of pocket to avoid the increased premium)!

Has this happened to anyone else? Has the town helped by paying for the damage? If I were to contact the town, who do you recommend I call?

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

SUBJECT: 332 Howard Ave, no CO until rehabbed!!
Please be aware that the new owner of 332 Howard Ave,
    whose name and residence is
Jianchao Xu [aka “Nash Street LLP”]
    79 BETHANY FARMS RD
    Bethany, CT 06524
Should NOT be given a Certificate of Occupancy [CO] until this building has been EXTENSIVELY rehabilitated.
I personally inspected the interior when it recently was bank-owned and the interior is completely dilapidated and hazardous.
In addition to walls, ceilings, etc. as well as rodent infestation, all MECHANICAL systems are in disrepair and not safe:
    Plumbing
    Electrical
    Heating
ADDITIONALLY, there are innumerable building and Housing Code violations.
According to the website, portal.viewpermit. com
The last permit pulled for 332 HOWARD AV [i.e., that is viewable online] was on 8/8/2014 for “Siding : remove/replace wood siding as needed”
    >>ALSO please be aware that this new owner, Jianchao Xu has a NOTORIOUS reputation for NOT Complying with codes and of Utterly ignoring Orders by city officials to rectify problems.

Your attention to this issue is greatly appreciated—not only by me, but also by my many neighbors!
    Thank you!

  • 217 Howard Ave New Haven, CT, 06519, USA - City Point
Noise complaint, EVERY morning at around 530/6am a loud car starts up at 217 Howard Ave and the muffler is soo loud and obnoxious, you can literally hear the driver pull off. Idk if the driver lives in the house or is just giving someone a ride. The car pulls of at 6am and then about 15mins later comes back to pull then speed off again. I don’t have a photo of the car but it’s a new model white Honda Civic two door with tinted windows and license plates start with AC. Can someone reach out to the police? It is very rude and inconsiderate others especially that early in the morning.
  • Illegal Dumping Acknowledged
109 Greenwich Ave New Haven, CT 06519, USA - City Point
Occupants at 109 Greenwich multiple times daily let their dog out by itself to walk itself. It barks and chases every passerby and poops wherever it pleases including my yard- A LOT for a small dog. The owners are never seen and don't clean up after the dog, but let it back in when it barks at the front door.

Someone dropped a bloody mattress in the middle of Second Street between Front and East Pearl Streets. It's a traffic harard.
  • 15 Truman St New Haven Ct 06519 United States - Hill
This commercial tractor is ILLEGALLY parked on a residential street (Truman off West) and is parked on the curbstrip. It should be heavily ticked for parking illegally AND for being on the curbstrip. The company is ARM Lines out of Illinois, but there Is no answer to the phone and voicemail box is full.

  • COVID-19 Concerns Acknowledged
149 Orange St S New Haven, CT, 06519, USA - Hill
I am concerned that three people in my household have not qualified for the CVS drive up testing. One of which is a healthcare worker and a caregiver to an elderly family member. What are the qualifications of being able to be tested if these are not?
