I am a monthly user of this non-paved outdoor lot and there are numerous large potholes at the entrance and throughout the lot that present a hazard to vehicles. In past year these potholes were filled with gravel, but they have not been filled them this year.
1 Harbour Close New Haven, CT, 06519, USA - City Point
Now, we have 2 fires burning on the harbor, there is so much smoke you can smell it inside the building. It’s dry and windy outside which makes for further fire problems.
There are also larger groups gathering.
Car painting and repairs. The smell of the paint is so extreme we have to close our windows. Car body work with electric tools, grinding and sanding. In addition to racing engines into the night and all weekend, along with loud music. This is going on 7 days a week. Please put a stop to this.
South Water Street New Haven, Connecticut - City Point
The "City Point Kitchen" restaurant (South Water Street) has placed a large sign advertising their business blocking the handicapped ramp leading up to the sidewalk.I Have a handicapped family member who lives in this area and resent this lack of consideration for others. Ironically, the restaurant owner is medical doctor! One would think he would know better. Placing the sign on city property is illegal. Blocking a handicapped ramp with a private business sign adds immoral to the mix.
Neighbors report corruption in Transportation, Traffic & Parking Dept. They say Parking Enforcement officer is friends with owner of illegal vehicles on First St—which is why problem never gets fixed. Is this not true? >>THEN PROVE IT—and get rid of these vehicles: https://seeclickfix.com/issues/6789012 AND https://seeclickfix.com/issues/6789042 AND https://seeclickfix.com/issues/6789084 ***And I don’t want to hear that “illegal registrations are not dealt with by TT&P Dept”. If that’s so, then act like an actual taxpayer-paid ‘public servant’ and find out who IS responsible for taking care of this problem and pressure THEM to take care of this until the problem is fixed! (I hope the next mayor completely ‘clears the deck’ and hires new staff when he takes office…)
the front entrance area of the CITY owned empty building at 649 Howard Avenue is being used as a shelter ... where not only do people sleep at night, but they also congregate and use drugs. LCI has dismantled it several times, the NHPD has gone by and 'evicted' people several times. There is a clear 'NO TRESPASSING' sign there - next to the curtain - so that's not working. I suggest the City of New Haven board up the entrance and NHPD continue to enforce the no trespassing.
19 27, 33, 35, 41, 45, 51 Howard Ave., New Haven, Connecticut - City Point
Residents were issued parking permits because of the heavy congestion. However, the signs were supposed to be posted months ago, and still aren't up, rendering the permits useless and residents with an ongoing parking problem.

Civil war Dahlgren Cannon shows signs of barrel being cut by a hack saw this week. Looks fresh. Should be repaired. Cut is 26 inches from muzzle.
196 Greenwich Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - City Point
Just read New Haven's warning about residents blowing leaves into the street and the fact that they will be given a hefty fine if this occures. The maintenance crews at Saint Raphael's Hospt. are allowed to blow their leaves into the street on Chapel Street and they are picked up by the city' street sweeping crew. As a former employee I've seen it with my own eyes and as a New Haven home owner and resident I resent the special treatment and double standard. I am a tax payer! The hospital is non prophet thus they don't pay taxes. With that reality I am paying for this pick-up! All tax payers in New Haven should have a hard time with this practice and protest. The tree lines strip was planted by the city. Why should it be my labor and expense to dispose of THOSE leaves? If our mayor can find 4 grand in the city budget to buy uniforms for two receptionists maybe SHE can pay for my leaves!
