The following case was heard in 2014 by Magistrate Millmore and her DEFAULT judgment is below. Compliance has not been maintained as the images reflect. A 20 Ft. boat trailer has been parked in the illegal driveway for over 2 months .Code compliance officers Mike Morrison and Greg Scrimger have been contacted innumerable times and confirmed that the court order has not been followed but responds "what can we do?" They will not forcibly remove the driveway by re-installing the curb. I was told "he has rights". What about my rights? I have been told multiple times it "was turned over to Scott Sandford" who I believe has been complicit with this resident and has disregarded his responsibility to enforce the court order. I have the right to live in a residential neighborhood to expect the enforcement of zoning laws. Code compliance also informed me that the zoning administrator Stachowiak has disregarded the zoning laws and the Court Order and allowed the Illegal driveway to remain. Case #14M003539 Violation codes 1248.03 (B) (12),1286.01, 1286.02. ALL COUNTS

  • 1510 Marcus St Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
The words "wonder land" has been painted on the home in bright red paint with an arrow pointing into a bedroom window. There is garbage all over the yard. There is an old rug, a giant pile of leaves, broken parts of living room furniture, old doors, garbage cans overflowing with garbage, paint buckets, just trash all over the place. Not only is this an eyesore, but this is a serious health hazard a there is trash everywhere and it is attracting rodents. Absolutely fed up as the neighbors have reported the condition of this home before and nothing happened. Can someone please help to clean up this property by removing the trash and the graffiti?????
  • 428 Beaver St. Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Rental house w/ tenants who continually leave couches, old carpet mounds, moldy furniture & garbage overflowing on their porch, side yard, front yard & sidewalk. There was a dirty carpet mound out front for at least 2 months & this couch/porch garbage issue has been going on for over a week.
  • 1624 James St Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
garbage on front porch, back porch, in yard, in garage, in house, on sidewalk. Garage door broken and hanging with graffiti sprayed on it. When there is an issue with bed bug furniture, parking or children the mess is moved one house down the street to 1616 James. Same people appear to live in both rentals 1624 & 1616 James. The condition of these 2 properties is ruining our neighborhood. NEIGHBORHOOD WOULD LIKE LANSING CITY CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICERS TO INSPECT THESE HOMES. This has gone on for over a year with no assistance from the landlord at either property. Neighborhood is unsafe because of these 2 homes. Constant traffic, garbage, neglected children, loud and aggressive tenants, bed bugs and vermin. Possible drug trafficking. Please evict these tenants and condemn these 2 unsafe properties. Landlord does nothing to assist neighbors who have contacted him.
  • 128 North Holmes Street Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
The curb cuts on Jerome at this corner of N. Holmes make for a dangerous path for bicyclists using Jerome heading East - West to avoid Michigan Ave. Please add a more bike-friendly curb cut that allows bikes to move through here so they don't have to come to an almost complete stop to pass through here.
  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Huge washout / pothole on the River Trail just after crossing a bridge (west side). Very dangerous. Had a caution barrel by for much of last year; no barrel or anything warning people now.
  • 1304 W Barnes Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Parked on front lawn daily, despite ample space in driveway. Renters enjoy the irritation they cause neighbors; landlord enjoys threatening neighbors who call about this house. Constant revving of motorcycles at all hours. Tenants sometimes ride motorcycles on SIDEWALKS.
  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
These bollards on either side of one of the bridges on the River Trail headed towards Scotts' Woods just south of Mt. Hope Rd. need some reflective material added as people might run into them in low light. Don't understand why these bollards are even necessary.
  • 1118-1132 South Washington Avenue Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Someone (possibly during winter) ran over the median on South Washington in REO town, damaging the electrical controller and water valve for the watering (?) system. Additionally, two new trees were destroyed. Water is not actively leaking, but I cannot be sure that the system is working normally (I haven't seen the sprinklers on this year yet). In any cases, boxes and trees should be replaced.
