    There is a small intersection while coming into walmart parking lot. One day you come through here and you have to stop at a stop sign, the next day, there will be a bent stopsign like someone just ran over it, then there will be no stopsign. Some people are used to this stopsign being here and still try to do the three way stop and others who know it is gone just run right through doing 30. there is going to be an accident here. Need to just paint STOP on the road and dont worry about the bend stopsigns, before someone gets run over.

    Traffic taveling south on New Hope Rd. from Dallas crosses the intersection at Ozark and New Hope and attempt to turn left into the Fast Stop. They have no turn lane for the south bound traffic and I believe the double yellow line indicates no left turn. the business has a slight traffic control device ( pork chop ) but does little to help. the cars turning impedes traffic flow causing vehicles to stop in the intersection. If they would use the traffic light and turn east on Ozark would help the problem. they would have access to an entrance on the same side as the business with no need to cross traffic. The same problem exist for the North bound traffic a little over a half mile down the road at the Bojangles at 507 New Hope Rd. Thank you.

    Since the new housing development was created at the end of Stroupe Road, traffic has been much heavier. On several occasions, I have had oncoming traffic on my side of the road because the road is unmarked and narrow. The road needs to be clearly marked, contain sidewalks and widened to handle the influx of traffic. Also, a lot of the street lights are out along this road, which makes traveling at night even more hazardous. Update 11/3/11: lines have now been added to the middle of the road.

    Speeding is an issue on this street. There are a lot of pedestrians walking and riding bikes. Traffic has to be cleared both ways in order for our families to even check our mail boxes. My children have been in harm way many times with speeding vehicles.

    Late May 26th or early 27th our mail boxes at Ashbrook Village Apartments were hit and destroyed by a suv. Its been a week and nothing has been done to fix or even clean up this mess.

    I recieved a note on my door on May 27th
    If your mail box was damaged then you need to pick up your mail at the folloing address: Annex Post Office.. 1882 South New Hope RD, Gastonia

    Yes this is just right down the street, but i go to work before they open and can not get there by the time they close at 5 pm.

    I feel that Ashbrook Village / Southwood Reality should have fixed this problem by now.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Interstate 85 Over Pass At New Hope Rd - Gastonia
    I use this road everyday to go to work. They have actually worked on this section a lot lately, however it seems that they forget the overpass above I-85. The only words I have to discribe it: I didn't know it was safe for bridges to have major pot holes. There are pot holes on the bridge itself, in both directions. There are pot holes where the bridge connects with the road. Not only is it wear and tear on the cars that pass by, it also has me worrying about my safety.
