I didn’t know what category to pick. The issue is a mattress on the sidewalk propped up against the building.

There've been a lot of complaints recently about how motorists drive dangerously through the 4-way stop intersections at Walden+Raymond and Upland+Raymond. I'd like to draw some attention to the mid-block crosswalk at the entrance to Raymond Park on Walden Street. I commute by bike so I've had my share of close calls with motorists, but recently one of the scariest parts of my commute has been walking across this crosswalk at rush hour (morning and evening). Even though I wear a high-visibility vest and am hard to miss because I am walking alongside my bike, three times in the last couple weeks motorists have failed to yield to me when I am already in the middle of the crosswalk.

The best solution here would be to install a raised crosswalk to force motorists to stay slow through here, although I doubt such an infrastructure improvement would happen any time soon. But would it be possible to install one of those mid-crosswalk "MUST YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS" bollards/signs here? And possibly some spot enforcement by police? Thanks for looking into this.

Wiring access plate lying on street and wiring exposed maybe for about a week. (Pls ignore pedestrian lamp complaint - app should have an 'other' category if you force a choice.)

Odd side of Langdon Street needs more plowing and often gets missed/poorly plowed. Plow please make another pass.

Since construction of “Masse Corner” apts, there have been 10 garbage/recycling bins and now a dumpster on the Sherman St side 24/7. They are an eyesore! Please inform the builders/owners that bins should only be out on rubbish day. There appears to be room to store them at the back or at the side of the building or in their garage. Thank you for your attention to this. Much appreciated by many neighbors!!

There is a running police cruiser parked on the street without an office in sight.

Passenger doored me in traffic. Lack of a real bike lane here means cyclists are sandwiched between parked cars and traffic. A driver stopped and their passenger opened their door to hop out before the stoplight. I was beside their car at the time and was knocked into a parked car. We badly need a real bike lane here.
  • 14-16 Martin St Cambridge, MA 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
There is a large hole in the sidewalk on Martin Street across from the intersection with Hurlbut Street. Someone could get seriously injured if they accidentally stepped in this hole.
  • Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, Massachusetts - Neighborhood 9

This is a new incident related to the same traffic design which caused my previous filed incident, #4680751.

The location is the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue.

Yesterday my wife (in the car) and 3yo son were rear ended turning left onto Cameron Ave from Mass Ave. She was partially turned and was waiting for pedestrians in the crosswalk. The car behind her chose not to wait and rear ended her (gently).

While clearly the primary fault is the other driver failing to yield to my wife's stopped car directly in front of him, the situation was created by encouraging pedestrians to walk simultaneously with encouraging cars to turn. Per my previous incident report last week (4680751) my son and I were nearly run over in the crosswalk due to the same traffic design.

Please eliminate the overlapping timing of the pedestrian signal and vehicle green lights at this intersection.

  • 31 Shepard St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
Some sort of construction or garbage vehicles drives down Shepard street every morning around 8am, using blaring megaphones to tell cars to move. This seems like an unnecessary disturbance.

The pedestrian light to cross Garden Street just south of the intersection with Concord Ave turns to "WALK" very rarely. The intersection is therefore a subject of a great deal of complaining by pedestrians and cyclists alike, and is indeed somewhat dangerous because pedestrians often get frustrated and jaywalk. Why is the "WALK" signal so infrequent? Is it possible to have a "WALK" signal between each direction's green signal? Thank you!
  • Walden St & Richdale Ave Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - Neighborhood 9
Cars, backed up on Walden St heading to Mass Ave. will turn into the on-coming traffic lane and drive down Walden and turn on Mead. Cars coming up Mead cannot see them and do not expect cars to be driving in the wrong lane. I have almost been hit several times and pedestrians are at grave risk.
