Washington Park Madison Ave, Albany, NY 12203, USA - Albany
I'm taking lunch today in the park, since it's such a nice day, and I'm watching a park employee push the gravel they use on pathways into the lake. I've lived in Albany all my life and frequently lunch here. Never before have I seen a park employee creating this mess in the lake. This serves no purpose other than to create an artificial bank that boaters are not allowed to use anyway. such a shame.
  • Retire Lark Fest Acknowledged
194 Lark St Albany, NY, 12210, USA - Central Avenue
How sad that Lark Fest is nothing more than a loud drunk fest that reinforces Center Square as a place only to drink alcohol, trash, and behave badly. Other than bars, businesses mostly hate it. Residents mostly dread it, and the whole area suffers. The Bid can claim it cleans up, but it does not clean up the trash, vomit, urine and damage on each side street off of Lark, and on Willett, on Madison and in the Park; all of which are negatively impacted not only during Lark Fest, but suntil approximately 4:30 AM on Sunday. How and why have the BID, the Neighborhood Associations and the City, allowed it to be this?
  • Parking Enforcement Acknowledged
460 Madison Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - Park South
Besides revving their engines to an ear splitting level and doing U-turns in the busy intersection with oncoming cars, these two motorcycles park directly in the marked "no parking bus stop." No one answers at Parking Enforcement and the police are unresponsive to parking issues nights and weekends.
  • 253 Myrtle Ave Albany, NY 12208, USA - Park South
    overgrowth spectacular. sidewalk impeded.
  • 439 Madison Ave Albany, NY, 12210, USA - Center Square
Can a City Official inform area bars and restaurants that customers can't congregate outside after 11:00 PM. Too many seem to think it's enough to tell customers the outside area is closed but still allow them to congregate outside after that, including until 2:00 and 4:00 AM.
  • Lark St & Madison Ave Albany, NY, 12210, USA - Center Square
This weekend was so dangerous and miserable for the Lark, Madison and Washington Park areas with the motorcycles, motorbikes, ATVs (and outrageously loud car stereos and fireworks until 3:00 AM) and July 4th is coming. This areas is getting a very negative reputation, and how disruptive this will be when Park Playhouse starts. Please provide a meaningful response here Albany City Officials. Also, can we enlist the State Police since our local department does not appear to be addressing these issues in any noticeable or effective way? What about contacting our political representatives beyond the Mayor and Common Council? Is there anyone in the Governor's Office who might care or be of help? Even though Dunkin Donuts is a franchise, would Corporate condone it being used as a gathering place that exacerbates some of this? Maybe they should be notified by the neighborhood associations. Other communities are finding ways to address this issue. Here's a news story about one of them Does Albany PD uses the StopIt app mentioned in this news clip and that other communities are using? What would it take to get that in place APD? It may also be time for Letters to the Editors, contacting TV news stations, and letters to the Mayor's office. Citizens are a part of the equation, but can't do this alone.
  • Washington Park Mall Benches Albany, New York - Albany
Mall/walkway behind Soldiers and Sailors Monument has become a skid row with 5-12 individuals who are high from drink, meds or whatever, maybe mentally unstable. Sleeping overnight. Litter, trash and unsanitary remains throughout the day. The monument is left with litter, trash. Intimidating, dangerous, bad image for our city. Terrible for families and children who use the park. Police help needed on a regular daily basis.
  • 184 Washington Ave Albany 12210 United States - Central Avenue
    Excessive trash.
  • 304 Lark St Albany, NY 12210, USA - Center Square
people setting off fireworks at dunkin donuts
  • Madison Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - Albany
A renter reported two young boys (approximately 8 years old), one on a bike, one (more stocky) on a scooter with a back pack who were riding along Madison Ave. calling women "white b_tch c_nts" and telling then to "s_ck my d_ck." One of the boys also allegedly commented about stealing people's mail. They took off before the police could arrive but this could be related to a previous post from this weekend that reported young boys in the area asking for food and then sexually harassing women. These children seem in need of intervention/appropriate care and supervision
  • 558 Madison Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - Park South
There is a gentleman who sleeps in the alcove next to China house who just stared me in the face while taking a crap on the sidewalk with families and children walking by.
  • 397 State St Albany, NY 12210, USA - Central Avenue
can APD spend less time battering on defenseless citizens and more time preventing these quads and motorbikes speeding through the park. I was almost just crippled.
