This house is being used as a drug den, flop pad, whatever the lingo is these day.. There is a mentally handicapped man why is supposed to be cared for by a care giver at this property but is forced to live in an armchair on the front porch. There is a constant flow of junkies coming and going from this address, people falling face first onto the sidewalk, people rolling around in the street screaming, people laying in the yard. Besides all of that this yard is overgrown and full of trash. It's disgusting that neighbors with kids have to live next to and witness this daily. I KNOW this has been called reported here and called in to GPD multiple times, why has nothing been done??

The stop sign on the NE side of the intersection usually has a very helpful white stripe painted on the pavement next to it. Now, the line is almost totally invisible, and this is a blind intersection that needs a visible warning besides the sign.

There is a telephone pole in on the NE corner of the lot located at 600 NE 11th Street. It was damaged by a fallen tree. The damage includes three steel reinforcement cables that are now completely slack. The pole is in a weakened state and I fear that it could fall on my vehicles or block access to my drive way.

Cars at the intersection of NW 19th Ave and NW 9th St either do not come to a complete stop at the 2-way, or they just ignore it. I see this several times a day when out walking.

In front of Main St. Post office. The island ballard has been down for about a month. It no doubt was torn off by a vehicle. Apparently the employees in the department responsible for this road issue that have passed this daily don't have time to address it unless there,s a formal complaint. Alot of tax payers dollars were spent on this section of Main St but not much is done to maintain it once completed.

GNV311 is being used as a reporting tool primarily which is great, but you guys are missing the big picture when it comes to being "citizen-centered" and meeting the citizens where they are at. Every issue reported is closed and citizens are then forwarded to a phone number or the city's code enforcement internal ticketing system which has a horrible user experience. You can't even link to a specific issue in the Public Access site. It makes it very cumbersome to follow up on issues and keep the city accountable. You guys should leave issues open in GNV311 until they are resolved. You don't have to change any internal processes, but leave the tickets open and the information flowing. Please get this to Anthony Lyons and the folks at the top focused on Citizen Centered Gainesville.

Northeast Park Gainesville, Florida - 311GNVPolice Sector 3
While on daily early evening walks through NE Park I've noticed an increase in people openly drinking alcohol and smoking who knows what especially around the racquetball court areas. I would suggest that the park service remove the white plastic yard chairs from the area as I see them at times scattered about the park by partiers. Police should exit their patrol vehicles from the NE 13th Ave side of park and walk in to witness this behavior. There's also a black SUV taking up multiple spaces piled high with debris that is a permanent fixture in the north parking lot. The drinking, smoking and drugging going on related to this vehicle does not promote a safe and inviting recreational environment for our community. I'm wondering how long this would go unaddressed at Westside or Kanapaha Parks?? Please correct these issues. Thank you.

Large amounts of trash along NW 6th St (the side road that runs by SFC) and throughout pleasant street neighborhood, left by Fletcher's patrons who are allowed by GPD to party in front of houses while illegally parked.
  • 9401-9463 Nw 43rd St Gainesville, FL, 32653, USA - Gainesville
A very large area, too large to even be called a pothole, has developed. The asphalt seems to have disappeared leaving a large crater that is several inches deep and several feet wide. It's so wide that it's really not possible to go around it, you just have to drive very slowly through it. We drive SUVs but I'm pretty sure in a normal car the underside would get scraped because of how it deep it is. It's incredibly dangerous, especially if you didn't know it was there and didn't come to a complete stop before trying to drive around/through it.

Nw 43rd Street Construction Gainesville, Florida - 311GNV Police Sector 1

I am a residence of your commission district 3 and my wife & I are two wheeled transportation users (Motorcycle and Bicycle). We live just off of NW 43rd Street and have no alternative but to use the street to get to and from nearly every where we go in Gainesville. We appreciate the fact that the street is being "improved" via re-surfacing, however, during that process it has become extremely dangerous for Motorcycles and Bicycles.

The contractor, and apparently the city's own inspectors / construction supervisors, have allowed the situation to get completely out-of-hand. The problem is the 1.5 to 2 inch jump in the level of the pavement all along the curb and the middle turn lane and the uneven payment areas around man-hole covers and other utility access points. For a 2 wheeled device the pavement jumps are extremely hazardous since the tires do not ride up over the jumps very well and have a nasty tendency to get caught by the sharp edge which in turn can cause the motorcycle or bicycle to fall. This is particularly true when riding parallel to the center lane or the curb and then have the requirement to turn off the 43rd street (which is nearly always the case). The uneven pavement around the manhole covers cause most drivers to divert their vehicles into the bicycle lane to avoid the bumps. If a bicyclist, like me, happens to be in the bike lane at the time we are done for.

I understand from a news broadcast on WCJB 4, that these conditions are here to stay until work begins again on the re-paving project which is not scheduled to happen for several months (next July). If this is the case, I have a huge problem with how Gainesville is handling this project and the contractor involved. If by chance any one in my family is injured in a accident caused by one of these conditions, there is not enough money in all of Florida that will protect the City and all of its' responsible employees as well as the contractor from the law suits that will be filed. Lawyers will be lined-up around the block to take the case.

Also, if the news broadcast was correct there is talk of temporarily lowering the manhole covers so that the uneven pavement issue goes away until the project is completed sometime next summer. If this is the case, you are throwing good money after bad to make up for pure stupidity on the part of the City's employees.

This appears to be just another example of how poorly Gainesville handles contracts/projects. I point to the unbelievably onerous Biomass Plant agreement and the billions of dollars that that mistake is causing GRU customers and Gainesville tax payers. Another similar road project that stands as one of the worst handled in the history of local government is the re-construction of NW 16th Ave that took many many months longer to complete than it should have if only some one was policing the contract process and the contractors

This is a follow up to my issue 5044211. Service Request 15689. The issue was incorrectly resolved by declaring it to be a county road. The country has now posted a sign that clarifies that it is not their responsibility. I feel as the road is in Gainesville it should be swept by Gainesville. When we were incorporated into Gainesville the city promised services.

Why is it that the people that gather at the Circle K stop sign near NE 16th Ave can openly drink alcohol, smoke weed, block the sidewalk and trash the area?
