Please consider adding one of the pedestrian-activated yellow flashing light crosswalks where S. 146th St. crosses International Boulevard. I drive this to work every day, and there are constantly students heading east on 146th, then running dangerously across International Boulevard at 146th instead of going to 144th and crossing there. Several times I have witnessed very near misses, potential accidents between pedestrians and vehicles. There are pedestrian-activated sidewalk lights north of 144th on International Blvd., and on 144th east of International Boulevard. Adding one at 146th would do a great deal to keep our students, and other people, safe! Thank you for considering this!

  • 5627 S 150th St Tukwila, Washington - Tukwila
Massive subletting at 5627 S 150th ST. About 12 people live in this single family home. Cars travelling up and down the road to this home all hours of the day and night. Stopping for a while, then leaving. This was listed as a house rental, but they are treating it as an apartment. So many strange visitors to this home. 3 police calls in less than two months. Rave parties. Crowds in the streets. Crime in our neighborhood has shot up 800% since they moved in. Car break ins, business vehicles parked on our residential street, parking in no parking zones, garbage in the front yard: you name it, they've got it.
  • 3520 South 146th Street Seattle, Washington - Tukwila
This location on S. 146th st and 35th ave S is a school bus stop. There constantly are vehicles parked on the east side of 35th and S. side on S 146th in various states of repair and people living out of them. 70 to 80 elementary children witness alcohol, drugs activity and prostitution in and around these vehicles routinely. Can't the City post this area either No Parking or No parking longer than 48 hrs anything in the name of safety and security for our children? HELP

Parking at the new Tukwila library is not a 'challenge': it's an impossibility.

It appears people working in the SHAG buildings, visitors to them, or residents who have not paid high fees for a parking stall, all end up filling the library's parking lot.

This is an impossible situation for library patrons, who have every right and need to be able to visit the library by car, and stay there are reasonable length of time: a few minutes, or a couple of hours. They cannot do so now.

The ordinary workweek day sees a completely full parking lot, and yet if you go into the library, you will find very few patrons there. The problem is parking by people who are not library patrons, yet that parking lot, small though it is, was intended for library patrons only.

The most immediate and expedient cure would be to designate the lot as “Parking for Lbrary Patrons Only – All Others Will Be Towed”. (Perhaps some of the spaces could be shared somewhat: “Parking For Library Patrons Or Community Center Visitors Only...”. A time limit of, say, 2 hours, added to such notices, would help. It would also help if a couple of spaces were marked “10-minute Parking For Pickup/Check Out of Materials Only”, similar to designated spaces near restaurants for picking up of takeout orders only.

Street parking is next to irrelevant in this case. There are next-to-no spaces available on that short stretch of South 1/44th.

No one connected to the SHAG buildings should be permitted to use these spaces, at all. Nor should construction crew members working on the next SHAG building projects.

The situation could be ameliorated, if not solved, by having some reasonable amount of overflow parking available, at some reasonably close additional parking lot. But whatever solutions need to be made – temporary or permanent – the current situation is – with no exaggeration – impossible.

People often do not stop at these stop signs. The worst is north bound traffic. I wonder if it has something to do with the sign being up against an phone pole. I think this intersection needs a flashing stop sign and or stop painted on the street before the line. I have lived here for 13 years and this has been a long standing problem that needs a solution. I have almost been hit in my car by people driving through the intersection at 30 miles an hour, you can’t always see them coming When they are driving fast. I have also almost been hit walking the dogs. I have also witnessed children almost hit while walking to school in the morning. We had some short term success when I have complained in the past because the city would have police sit at the intersection and pull over speeders and folks that run the sign. I hear they got a bunch of people with warrants by doing this. But it never lasts long. We need a better solution to slow people down and get them to stop. I also recommend working with the elementary school to advise parents that they are responsible to drive safely for other children in our neighborhood.
