Causeway Isles and Yacht Club Estates

  • 79th St S & Central Ave Saint Petersburg, FL, 33707, USA - Causeway Isles Neighborhood Association
The scrub trees on the southwest corner of N 79th St and Central ave. make it very dangerous for vehicles going southbound turning left with the light to see vehicles approaching the intersection as the stop line is back. this also as you can see makes it hard for east bound drivers to see approaching vehicles. Vehicles going eastbound speed routinely and run this light. My neighbor was in such an accident not her fault. i was almost hit a couple of weeks ago turning right with the light and could not see the vehicle running the light until almost too late. Thinking this was Treasure Islands issuse a drove straight to their Public Works. They responded the next day an took out as much as was on their property and came back and removed a bottlebrush tree.
They advised me that the rest was on the City of St Pete's side and they would have to remove.
Can this be addressed before someone else is hurt or worse.

Short term rental home (VTrips.com) at 7981 2nd Ave S has had trash/yard waste piled up in street/at curbside for three weeks. It is clearly an eyesore and a health hazard, not to mention the negative image it projects on our Causeway Isles neighborhood. I am requesting City to pick it up. Property owner and management company need to address immediately and continuously. Perfect example of why short term rentals are bad for the neighborhood.

Neighbor dumped bamboo cuttings on my lawn, and he has since moved. They need to be picked up, as I have no means to haul them.

Deep flooding, half of the northbound block between 10th & 11th Ave South. City was recently working on sewers / drains in that area, may be related.

Brick paver boundary on edge of property on City right away. This issue was previously reported nd apparently the homeowner removed the bricks for the Codes Compliance Officer but after the case was closed, the bricks were put back on the City right of way. There is no pedestrian safety lane on this part of the narrow street so pedestrians have difficulty getting out of the way of speeding incoming traffic.

Seawall collapsing 12' from bridge spanning Yacht Club Estates and Causeway Isles. Located on 79st. S. South of 79th and Central Ave. I believe that the bridge is in danger of falling into the canal if the seawall washes out.

At around 7:45 a.m. today there was a truck pulling a very large piece of digging equipment. It ran over the water sewer drain at the corner of 79th and 12th Ave., South. I’m pretty sure it came from the property that they just cleared on 79th St.
