Notified About

  • 144 Quarry St Quincy, MA 02169, USA - Quincy
    This is a bus stop for the 245 route at the entrance to the Avalon apartment complex. Trying to cross the street here is a nightmare, especially during commute hours. People fly down Quarry Street and visibility is tough with corners.
  • 1-99 Morrison St Quincy, MA 02169, USA - Quincy
    National Grid's large trucks constantly use this road, which when pot holes are fixed, just removes the fix. Needs to be repaved!!
  • 115-173 Furnace Brook Parkway Quincy, MA 02169, USA - Quincy
    Sidewalk in front of 168 Furnace Brook Pkwy is completely gone and has been for at least 3 years. Creates a 12 door long puddle anytime it rains. Forces people to walk on grass strip and has created a trail there. Makes it almost impossible to pass in a wheelchair or baby carriage without going onto the parkway. I have reported this many times but am always told it is the States responsibility and nothing ever happens.
  • 469 Hancock Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy

    The T-junction where the driveway of Hannaford supermarket meets Hancock Street is controlled by inductive loop traffic detector. The inductive loop on the driveway triggers green for sedans immediately but it does not detect bicycles. In order to make a left turn onto Hancock Street, a cyclist must wait for a sedan to come up from behind. This can take minutes to perhaps hours during off-peak hours when there are no sedans leaving the Hannaford parking lot.

    Here's the Google Street View of the T-junction: http://goo.gl/maps/FaElg

    Note that:
    A) the saw cut on the ground is not visible;
    B) once a cyclist is on the left-turn lane and stuck with a red light, there is no legal way for him to leave the lane (walking to the sidewalk on either side to press the button is jaywalking, moving over to the right lane before pressing the button is crossing a solid white line).

    I suggest:
    1) Painting the marking that comes with a R10-22 sign to show where the saw cut is (http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/htm/2009r1r2/part9/part9c.htm#figure9C07);
    2) Checking the sensitivity of the detector to make sure that it will trigger for bicycles, motorcycles and pickup trucks; and
    3) In the short term, allowing bicycles and motorcycles to treat the red light as stop sign at that intersection

  • Lights are out Acknowledged
    200 Crown Colony Dr Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy

    A popular street, and local access to the highway should be illuminated. The lights have been out for about a month now.

    Six months later and the lights are still out. Comments added.

  • Frost heaves Archived
    45-49 Conant Rd Quincy, MA 02171, USA - Quincy
    The road surface on Conant Rd is destroyed from frost heaves. Do not drive faster than 15mph on Conant Rd, or the front end of your vehicle will be destroyed.
  • W Squantum St & Hancock St Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
    The on-street left arrow on W. Squantum Street (near the Shell Station) indicating a LEFT onto Hancock Street needs repainting
  • 828 Sea St Quincy, MA 02169, USA - Quincy
    Water main replacement work was done two months ago. The patches on Sea Street are bad enough that they are starting to create significant wear on my car's suspension system. The work done was sub-standard and entirely unacceptable for a major emergency route in and out of the area.
  • Animal Issue Acknowledged
    95 Highland Avenue Quincy, MA 02170, USA - Quincy
    Neighbor at 99 Highland Ave. has 3 dogs that are constantly chained up outside of house and bark all day and most of the evening. When people walk by the house the dogs jump out at them and its dangerous because the people walking are startled and jump into the street. It's a busy street on a MBTA route. The fence on the property needs to be replaced and the owner of residence has to be more respectful to her neighbors who have to listen to her dogs barking all day long.
  • Snow Plowing Acknowledged
    66 Cranch Street Quincy, MA 02169, USA - Quincy
    Cranch street needs some salting and sanding.
  • 157 Butler Rd Quincy, MA 02169, USA - Quincy
    Now a large pothole in the middle of the street. While its not a heavy traveled side street almost everyone hits this pothole. Because the pothole is placed where gas lines were worked on, houses can actually feel the ground shake when cars drive over it.
  • 150 Glendale Road Quincy, MA - Quincy
    The second street lamp on the public access way is out, making the walkway very dark. The light is on pole P 335. The walkway and stairs run between Glendale and Dixwell Ave.
