The temporary fencing at this intersection extends into the street, mostly blocking the view of oncoming traffic for drivers turning left onto Calcot Place. There are no traffic signs in either direction. This is a dangerous situation and an auto or truck collision seems inevitable there. A stop sign at the northeast corner of E. 11 St would help minimize this.
I would like to file a noise complaint against Cemex and surrounding plants at 333 23rd Ave, Oakland, CA 94606. They have a rail servicing the area and the train blasts its horn without any regard to the surrounding residents, typically at 1-3am in the morning. It is almost as if they are trying deliberately to wake people up. There are rail road crossing signs and gates there, the train does not need to blast the horn so loud for so long. On the morning of 1/29 around 3:30am, the train blasted its horn several times, each time for more than 10 seconds. Why are they able to do this to the residents nearby?
Multiple street lights are out in the Union Point Marina Parking lot and ALL the lights along the rail alongside the water (part of the park?) are out, creating a very unsafe nighttime situation for boat owners moving from their cars to the locked gate of the marina. Given the situation with the homeless encampment in the parking lot and park and surrounding areas- the very least we need is full lighting to maintain safety.
