Washington Avenue to Tasker Street

Notified About

  • 12th And Reed Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square

There's a drainage area being built on the corner here, right now it's a few feet deep and dirt. My son and I were playing in it today with his trucks and he stepped into a pile of leaves and disappeared into a drainage pipe. I had to put my arm up to my shoulder in the pipe and was able to grab him and pull him out. I've never been so scared in my life. I had the firemen across the street stick some cones in the drainage pipes, all of which were hidden by leaves.

This is a serious danger to any kids in the area and even smaller dogs. They need proper caps on the drainage pipes like the finished ones on the other side of the park or something.

  • 1240 Ellsworth St Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA - Passyunk Square
Sidewalk is broken up and needs to be replaced at this vacant lot. This is on a heavily traveled subway connector street and has been a safety hazard for at least 5 years now.
  • Abandoned House Acknowledged
Apt Near 904 Ellsworth St Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA - Passyunk Square
Between 906 Ellsworth St. and the garage closest to the corner there is an abandoned house. It shelter quite a few homeless people. This place has become a haven for drug use, prostitution, and violence. This place needs to be boarded up immediately! It is also smells terrible and the urination and defecation in the street needs to stop now! What a nice neighborhood it's a shame nothing has been done up to this point.
  • 1230 Ellsworth St Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA - Passyunk Square
Abandoned house has been sitting empty for over a year. Trash collects from menus, flyers, political door hangers, South Philly gazette, etc. Backyard overgrown with weeds. House is a blight on the neighborhood.
  • 1155 S. 8th Street Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
This property is on the corner of 8th and Federal Streets. This property is very large with a garage and could be a wonderful addition to the neighborhood if it were not vacant. This house too is in violation of the doors and windows law. It is a frequent target of graffiti, loitering, and trash.
  • 1158 S. 8th Street Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
L&I was at the property yesterday, boarded up the dangerous entry points to the building and posted a No Trepassing sign. It's a start but more needs to be done.
  • 1601 S. Broad Street Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
This corner of Broad and Tasker is a constant mess. The property is owned by the city and I would think they would want to have someone sweep up daily. It would take 5 mins a day and make a huge difference.
  • 10th And Washington Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
The Sherwin Williams property is on of the most trash and graffiti covered properties in our neighborhood. Repeated appeals to the shop directly (asking them to pick up trash and paint over graffiti) have resulted in dodging the responsibility saying, "we'll let management know." The sidewalks have not been swept since the summer and the graffiti has been on the back wall since September. Ironic that a PAINT store doesn't paint over graffiti? Sweep it up, paint over it!
  • 701 Dickinson Street Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
Small Dumpster at a poultry killing shop leaks animal waste onto the sidewalk and into a sewer drain on the northwest corner of 7th Street and Dickinson Street. Shop employees dump buckets full of cleaning and possible animal waste into the sewer drain regularly.
  • 1420 S. 12th St Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
Water is leaking into the street from unknown source but it looks like it's coming from the tree planter in front of 1420 S. 12th St. Water has been leaking for at least 2 days.
  • Abandoned Vehicle Acknowledged
1219 Ellsworth St. Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
There is a white and orange truck parked in front of 1219 Ellsworth that has not been moved for at least 6 to 9 months. The truck is on giant tires and shocks and takes up 1 and 1/2 of the usual parking spaces. It also looks like the vehicle may be leaking oil or some kind of fluid.
  • 1141 East Passyunk Avenue Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
Christpher's Auto Parts uses the triangle at 8th & Passyunk as a private parking lot. Cars are often double and triple parked out into the street making it dangerous, if not impossible to cross the street. The cars are often parked in so tightly around the business that a person, let alone a baby carriage, can't get between them to get onto the sidewalk. Cars patronizing this business often park illegally at the entrance to the 700 block of Ellsworth, making it impossible to turn onto that block. They often totally block the entrance to Ellsworth. I have never seen a ticket, in many years, on any of these cars. Why do Center City businesses have to obey the law but not South Philly businesses? The Parking Authority could make a fortune if it spent some time south of Washinton Avenue.
