Notified About

  • 179 Merseles St Jersey City 07302 United States - Downtown
Flooding along curb line at Mary Benson Park. Please see attached picture
  • 328 Varick Street Jersey City, NJ - Downtown
A resident nearly got into a really bad accident but the car swerved away from hitting her and hit a brownstone instead. She is requesting that the city install a stop sign of the intersection of Mercer Street and Varick street so that cars would stop instead of speeding down the street.
  • 2nd Street Jersey City, NJ - Downtown
Resident said that on 2nd. Street between Marin and Provost the cars fly down the block. There are no signs that post a speed limit or for pedestrian crossing. He is requesting better signage. This is a very dangerous situation.
  • 173 Bay St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
STOP signs desperately needed at this intersection on Marin going both directions. I have personally seen women pushing strollers almost get mowed over by cars going 40mph. This is not an exaggeration. The visibility is awful when there is traffic, both for pedestrian and motorist alike. The crosswalk is absolutely entirely disregarded in this spot. I have seen sleepy little intersections in Hoboken that have 4 way stops, yet this busy and dangerous intersection doesn't? Maybe a flashing red and yellow light would help the issue, like is already installed a bit down the street in front of the mall on Marin. This is a very scary intersection and that has recently seen a car rolled over trying to avoid a pedestrian. Please do something ASAP, someone is going to die.
  • 619 Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - Downtown

    16th and Marin
    Power pole tilting dangerously
Currently shored up with rope and shims
Power line between this pole and the next one to the west on 16th is now drooping - very possible it could be snagged by a truck pulling into the parking lot or, if it sags much further, could be a danger to pedestrians

Only a matter of time before this entire pole falls over

  • 249 Washington St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - The Waterfront

Yesterday, two cars collided on the corner of York and Washington. Why? After hours, The United States Postal Service parks their trucks on the corner blocking the vision of drivers. Insurance companies like Liberty Mutual Insurance and GEICO need to check their claims for this area. File lawsuits against The United States Postal Service.

While they are at it, they should also file lawsuits against Jersey City Parking Authority ... I have called several times to have these trucks towed. This is a safety hazard and it's not until someone is killed on this intersection that the city will do anything about it.

  • Christopher Columbus Dr & Hudson St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - The Waterfront
The signal at Christopher Columbus and Hudson St. is still not working properly. It does not change to green on Hudson St. at all, until a light rail passes. Then it only is green for 5 seconds. If no light rail passes the light stays green for Christopher Columbus indefinitely. I made a complaint last week and it shows completed, but the problem persists. Cars cannot exit the 10 Exchange Place Garage, and cars turning from Montgomery St, block the tracks. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED ASAP. Someone is going to get hurt.
  • 480 Washington Boulevard Jersey City, New Jersey - The Waterfront
Hi JC - I understand the boardwalk has gone under extensive repairs over the past two years (though it does kind of feel like forever, as this construction changes my commute). Do you know when the portion of the Waterfront Walkway between Thomas Gangemi Drive and the Newport Marina will be reopened? (behind the Citigroup building?) Walking on the boardwalk for my commute was one of my selling points for moving here, and I miss it!
  • York St & Washington St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - The Waterfront
Residents are reporting that that Postal Service is parking their trucks on the Corners and Crosswalks which is preventing incoming vehicles a line of sight and is causing accidents and potentially could hurt someone in the future.
  • 8 Erie St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Talde continues to grow a trash pile on the Bay Street sidewalk. This pile starts Friday night and continues to grow over the weekend until they have a pick up on Monday morning. Why does Jersey City continue to allow Talde to run in this fashion? We have a jazz festival on Newark Avenue and this is what people have to walk by if they decided to walk up Bay Street. There is no other establishment in this area that operates in this fashion, and I, a resident who lives on Bay Street, am outraged by the trash pile that Talde is allowed pile up on the sidewalk and frustrated by the way Jersey City continues to allow this happen.
  • 318 York St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
There is a large tree (>50 ft) in an adjacent property that is partially dead. It is unfortunately leaning towards my home. The large branch in question is not on my side of the property therefore I'm unable to take action. I've informed the owner several times however has not taken any action. Is there a department within the city that can enforce the owner of the property to properly address the hazard? It's a serious safety issue for both my kids and and/or property.
  • 375 3rd St Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
This section of a school block is covered in trash and broken beer bottles. The usual.
