The mentally unstable kid at 26 Montrose St. Plays loud music all times of day and night. I can't even open my windows. My husband has asked him many times to lower the music, even gave him head phones. Nope, didn't work. I am not going to live all Summer with my windows closed and I don't feel it is safe to speak to this nutty kid or his family. Help please, or tell me what can be done. Thank you.

This signal has been flashing yellow for several days. That creates a danger for people trying to cross to and from buses and Subway as they cannot call for a walk signal.

When the governor prohibits more than 25 people gathering for any reason outside, why is it that our city is permitting a protest downtown? Why is it the rules don't apply to everyone for every thing? Just curious. Please don't tell me about them wearing masks, social distancing, being outside, etc. The rule is no more than 25 people together outside. Just curious

I moved to this city in April, and I am shocked by how noisy it is! There are so many vehicles with illegally altered mufflers and engines so loud it's earth-shattering. Not to mention drivers blaring their music at deafening volumes. I should not be able to hear their music so clearly in my apartment! Worse, when it's from a motorcyclist blasting away making me feel as though I'm at an outdoor concert. Leominster is cracking down on noise from drivers, why isn't Malden?! This is a serious issue.

The Malden Recreation Department is offering a baseball clinic for BOYS ONLY, ages five through eight. This is illegal. In 1974, a court ruling forced Little League to allow girls to play baseball. In 2009, the NCAA determined that baseball and softball were NOT the same sport (they aren't), preventing its member schools from prohibiting girls from playing baseball by offering softball as an alternative. Rulings under Title IX now require schools to allow girls to play baseball, even if a school offers softball. So in 2020, by preventing girls from participating in a baseball clinic, even though it offers a softball clinic for girls, the city is committing illegal gender discrimination. It's not even a close call.

Even if it wasn't illegal, it's simply wrong. There is no reason to be segregating children this young on the basis of gender. For as long as anyone can remember, girls have played youth baseball in this city's Little League/youth baseball programs. Many have represented Malden in district all-star/post-season competition. They continue to participate. A few years back, a 13 year old girl with a 70 mph fastball pitched a complete game shutout in the Little League World Series. Nationwide, more and more girls are sticking with baseball, not switching to softball, and demanding their right to continue to participate in baseball at the high school level, and beyond.

That may be playing a role here. The city runs a girls softball program. The city does NOT run the co-ed baseball program. So is the city trying to funnel young girls away from one program and into another it runs by illegally restricting their opportunity to participate in baseball at a young age? That's not what youth sports should be about.

These clinics are a great opportunity for kids. Those volunteering deserve tremendous credit for stepping up to help. But the city needs to stop discriminating and denying the opportunity to participate equally in baseball to girls. Before someone at the city closes or archives this without seeing that the issue is corrected, they might want to refer this to the city's attorney to allow her to weigh in. That could probably save the city a lot of trouble down the road.

Also, to any parents of girls out there who would prefer their daughter attend the baseball camp: your child may. The city may not bar your daughter from participating.

I’m about an hour, this is gonna be a more serious problem. With the rain, this will turn to dirt and then it will be more difficult to move. Tenants come home from work within the hour and will need to access their space.

I'm a senior and I went to the senior center today. I was totally appalled to see kids in there and not the Seniors! Who's being allowed in and why are they turning me away at the door when it's almost 100 degrees outside? The doors were locked! Why aren't seniors allowed to use the senior center? I was told no seniors are allowed in at this time. Why is the senior center's budget increasing by a substantial amount, even during the pandemic, when seniors aren't being allowed in? My husband and others benefited greatly from the activities (ping pong, the pool table, the exercise room and the socialness and lunch) before it was closed. Why is the mayor opening everything else up but not the center (for the Seniors anyway), and why is the city allowing some people in (approximately 10 teenagers ) and not others? How many Seniors in the city are dependant on the Senior Center? Why is the center only offering one/two classes a day (3 classes total for the moment) and not letting people in for anything else? The center was open for over a decade. No need to re-invent the wheel. What is the holdup??? Every day counts for a senior especially ones with a disabilities. They actually digress without the exercise and being social! I'm retiring soon, paying a substantial amount in taxes a year and looking forward to using the center myself. I don't like to be told to go to another city and use theirs. The center was great! Please bring it back for the Seniors! By the way, there are 3 classes scheduled for this week! WHO KNEW!!! Did a letter go out to the Seniors?? They have everyones addresses because the Seniors got the Senior Center Calendar. June 23rd THIS Wednesday 10:30 - 12pm painting class. Thursday June 24th 10:00am Gentle Mat Yoga (10 ppl), Thursday June 24th 11:00am Chair Yoga (20 ppl). I only know this because I went there in person. (Malden is horrible at marketing and letting people know what is happening in Malden. Signage, banners, anything would be great! Sign up TODAY! Are we allowed to use the exercise rm, ping pong and Pool table before, during and after these classes. When are Seniors allowed in for these classes? Can they arrive 1/2 hour, or 1 hour before these classes?? If I am incorrect in anything I have stated here, please correct to make the public aware. The Seniors can't wait! Love the teens... but, Seniors take priority in a Senior Center!!! Also, I'm almost 70 and still working. I would like to go to the center with my husband. We would like to see a 7pm schedule again, movies and events.

What is being done about the dangerous, illegal fence that has been installed here? It is solid, six feet tall, just inches from the sidewalk, and replaced a three foot high chain link fence. As a result of this fence vehicles pulling onto Winter from Autumn can no longer see down Winter before entering the road. This intersection was dangerous before. Now it is much more so. Please address this.
