20-98 Dana St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4Upkeep of cemetery is a disgrace. View from the bike path shows a number of dead trees, large amount of leaves that were never raked/picked up in the fall, there is a hole that is held closed by one piece of wire where people undo the wire and let their dogs run/go to the bathroom through this location, tipped headstones, looks like at least one headstone has spray paint on it, trash is blowing around grounds, etc. It is really befuddling that we have a person in charge of cemetery upkeep but this location is always in terrible shape. Fire this guy, give the money to a landscaping company or the dpw and have somebody who cares take care of this location.
110 Pleasant St Malden, MA 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4Does the city have a social media/First Amendment policy relative to archiving of SCF posts? Archiving, as opposed to just closing, makes the post unviewable. My concern is that there is no objective rhyme or reason to what messages are archived or when. Some messages remain up for years. Others last a day. Archiving seems to happen by whim to posts expressing certain viewpoints, or from certain people, and not others. The problem is that a government official selectively making certain posts unviewable, while leaving others up, is about as clear an example of an actionable First Amendment violation as you can get. A governmental entity, like the City of Malden simply cannot do that. The reason I'm saying this is that as a taxpayer, I'd rather not have to see us incur legal fees and the possible cost of a judgement or settlement. I also value and respect the First Amendment, which is in fact being violated, even if that isn't the intent. There MUST be an objective policy/standard. Otherwise, you simply may not archive posts. Compliance with the First Amendment literally requires it. Please address this before a judge has to do it for us. The practice may also violate the MA public records access law. But that is another discussion. Thank you.
9–73 Leonard St Malden MA 02148, United States - Malden Ward 4As a neighbor of Waitt’s Mountain Park, I am distressed that the police are tasked to chase friendly, polite people out of the park at 8:00 pm... the coolest time of the day, and best time to go for a walk. The police are just following orders and responding to people who complain about others using this public space, and have been respectful (and almost embarrassed) that they have to kick people out, so I don’t blame them. However, I do object to people being asked to leave a public park for no good reason other than some neighbors complaining. So, in order to counter that, I am complaining. Personally I find the park much nicer later in the day, and it delights me to see it full of friendly, active people... all keeping a safe distance. It feels safer and more welcoming. In this time of turmoil, is this how we want to spend our tax dollars? Deploying police to chase families, climbers, dog walkers and young couples out of a public park? Seems silly to me.

I truly can’t believe the response posted earlier to this ClickFix! We are in a HOT SPOT with COVID cases rising daily and a positivity rate closing in on 9%! What an absolutely ABSURD answer - “parking restrictions will be eased to allow for VISITORS” ??!!!! Why is Malden NOT supporting Governor Baker?!!! The last thing we should be doing is assisting residents by easing parking restrictions! NO ONE SHOULD HAVE VISITORS!!! We should ONLY be celebrating tonight with members of OUR OWN HOUSEHOLD!!
I’m sorry, but, this is the ABSOLUTE WRONG MESSAGE to send out to Maldonians! Until all are vaccinated, COVID case levels come down (WAY DOWN), and we are told by reputable sources that things are somewhat safe WE CANNOT LET OUR GUARD DOWN! I certainly don’t like it either and would love to have company and celebrate, but, it is just the WRONG THING TO DO right now!
Someone from the city should have called with a New Year greeting well in advance of New Year’s Eve and should have stressed the importance of NOT having visitors this evening! It’s not what we want, but, until things get better we truly have no choice!
Be safe. Stay well. Happy New Year to all!
25 Salem St Malden, MA 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4Is there some reason not one single public official in this city can answer the very simple question raised in issue 10767851. Are Malden Public Schools going to do the only sensible thing and require masks in schools? Why are anxious parents and students who simply want to know that their families will be protected receiving NO information?

Main St @ Mountain Ave Malden, MA 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4How many people have to get hit by cars here? It seems to happen monthly, can you fix the lights and make a real cross walk signals?
75 Wyoming Avenue Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4Hello
A quick question. What is the rule for out of state people parking on Wyoming Ave. for the weekend? Most weekends,, there are several out of state cars that park on Friday, take the T, and don’t return until Sunday afternoon.
I did approach a couple last Friday and advised they would be ticketed for leaving the car for more than 24 hours. I wasn’t even sure if that was correct. They just said “it’s the weekend, we’ll take our chances”
Would you let me know what is actually permitted?
Thanks and have a great weekend!

Centre St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4This is the 6th accident at this intersection, alongside the crosswalk, this lighting traffic way needs to be redesigned and fixed. How many people and cars need to get hit here next to the high school?
Malden MA, USA - Malden Ward 4RE: Issue ID#9119169 Why is it that 75% of Clickfix requests are for missed pickups, trash all over the street or illegal dumping?? And the response is always "assigned to DPW" who go out and dutifully clean up the mess. And the response to this complaint is, "A proposal for trash totes has been submitted to the City Council"?? Just so I understand?.......The Mental Giants at City Hall have locked us into a contract with The Trash Police (JRM Disposal) who demand that we separate our trash to recycle and then dump it all into the same truck? Rummage through the trash to reject it, for whatever reason (styrofoam, plastic trash bag, etc.) to leave it there for the rat population to feed on (which is TOTALLY out of control, no wonder). Will not pick up one bulk item (per their contract) if there are two items there? Do not pick up the trash and broken bottles that they have left in the street after flinging trash into the back of the truck?
Just so I'm straight?....We are paying JRM how much $$$$$$$ to make a mess of our city? Remove as little trash as they possibly can? AND THEN WE PAY AGAIN WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS TO HAVE THE DPW GO OUT AND CLEAN UP AFTER THEM??? The DPW would be better served attending to our streets, public spaces and parks.
Please explain to me how "A proposal for trash totes has been submitted to the City Council" is going to solve these issues? Except cost us more tax $$$?
Anyone out there who can enlighten me as to the relationships between JRM AND/OR the company who manufactures/distributes the $2 trash bags we, only MALDEN, are forced to buy? and now these "trash totes"? Who's the vendor for this expenditure? And to our city politicians? Follow the money?
Please forward this to The Mayor and ALL Aldermen in the city. This is a disgrace and the residents of Malden are not being served by our elected officials. My taxes keep going up exponentially (I'm disabled and live alone) and the city is getting full of rats for our money. I've lived here for 40 years and had NEVER seen a rat until the last three years, thanks to the City's reckless and very profitable (for JRM) trash removal contract.
Instead of "trash totes" how about using some of my tax dollars for rat baiting??
FIX THIS PLEASE!

The common areas/ hallway of my building haven't been swept or sanitized for months.
The landlords are neglecting the management of the building and only respond when there's a complaint.
I live on the top floor and am exposed to all the filth that is spilled and dropped on the floors and stairs. When the custodian does show up, he "spot treats" the stains that are visible instead of sweeping/mopping ALL the floors and stairs. There's stains from foot traffic and a massive amount of dust buildup on the stairs AND between the banisters because they're not being cleaned properly on a regularly basis. Next, he'll spray aerosol in the air so the hallway "smells" clean. This usually takes him (5-10) mins max and then he's out!
The grounds around the building need to be maintained: Debris needs to be picked up, grass and bushes need to be cut and the mulch refreshed.
Also, tenants are throwing their garbage bags over the fire escape banister instead of placing it in the dumpster.
I have attached photos.
