Could you please install an actual pedestrian light at this intersection? I think the reason no one understands what steady red and yellow means is because it isn’t covered in the RMV manual. I just saw a confused driver go through the intersection again today as I attempted to cross.

It would be a lot less confusing and a lot more safe if a real pedestrian light were installed.

Insurance fraud/illegal registration. This vehicle is a fixture in the neighborhood. I have observed it multiple times per month since mid-summer (at least six months). Despite that, the vehicle continues to bear FL plates. The vehicle is clearly not principally garaged in FL. No doubt, the owner is getting a significant savings on both registration fees, and more importantly, insurance premiums. This is rate evasion and constitutes insurance fraud. It is a crime and a serious problem that costs the rest of us who are honest to pay higher premiums to offest the fraud. Please investigate. If the city cannot for some reason, please provide the appropriate contact information to report the owner to state insurance fraud investigators. Thank you.

Does the city have a social media/First Amendment policy relative to archiving of SCF posts? Archiving, as opposed to just closing, makes the post unviewable. My concern is that there is no objective rhyme or reason to what messages are archived or when. Some messages remain up for years. Others last a day. Archiving seems to happen by whim to posts expressing certain viewpoints, or from certain people, and not others. The problem is that a government official selectively making certain posts unviewable, while leaving others up, is about as clear an example of an actionable First Amendment violation as you can get. A governmental entity, like the City of Malden simply cannot do that. The reason I'm saying this is that as a taxpayer, I'd rather not have to see us incur legal fees and the possible cost of a judgement or settlement. I also value and respect the First Amendment, which is in fact being violated, even if that isn't the intent. There MUST be an objective policy/standard. Otherwise, you simply may not archive posts. Compliance with the First Amendment literally requires it. Please address this before a judge has to do it for us. The practice may also violate the MA public records access law. But that is another discussion. Thank you.

As a neighbor of Waitt’s Mountain Park, I am distressed that the police are tasked to chase friendly, polite people out of the park at 8:00 pm... the coolest time of the day, and best time to go for a walk. The police are just following orders and responding to people who complain about others using this public space, and have been respectful (and almost embarrassed) that they have to kick people out, so I don’t blame them. However, I do object to people being asked to leave a public park for no good reason other than some neighbors complaining. So, in order to counter that, I am complaining. Personally I find the park much nicer later in the day, and it delights me to see it full of friendly, active people... all keeping a safe distance. It feels safer and more welcoming. In this time of turmoil, is this how we want to spend our tax dollars? Deploying police to chase families, climbers, dog walkers and young couples out of a public park? Seems silly to me.

I know it's too late, but I wish that somebody would run against Ryan O' Malley for re-election next time. The residents that live near Main and Spring street in Malden should not have to listen to a church marching band rehearse for HOURS whenever they feel like it! The ordinance regarding churches is vague so that the Ward councillors don't have to do anything. Basically, the church can make as much noise as they want during "church" services and there's nothing anyone can do about it! That means if they have "church" everyday, the band can rehearse everyday!! I used quotations because they have church on Saturday, but the band is rehearsing on Sunday as I type and was rehearsing EVERY weekday in the past. As long as the doors are open, the church can claim they're having services. During the summer months, the band started rehearsing in the parking lot across from the YMCA. The noise was even louder and was disturbing the WHOLE NEIGHBOURHOOD!! I believe that the city doesn't want to do anything because of the racial makeup of the church, which is predominantly Haitian. The band also marches in the city parades. I also want to point out that churches don't pay taxes, but have the right to disturb the quite enjoyment of tax payers. Signed, a church going black lady (just in case anyone was wondering)

Every other business in Malden has done a great job with the Covid-19 requirements that i have seen. But, Dairy Delight has done nothing but block the sidewalk. There are no signs or placemarkers for social distancing. People are all over the place, blocking the sidewalk. The owners also leave a uncovered trash on the sidewalk over night for the racoons to eat from. In addition, I believe it is against health code to have uncovered trash bins in a food serving area. Make them clean up their act as they are putting us all at risk. Maybe they can serve out of the back and not obstruct pedestrian access on the sidewalk and allow for proper social distancing.
