Aberdeen Ave & Mt Auburn St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - West Cambridge
On the NE corner of this intersection is a sign "Left turn on left arrow only". This sign is either ignored or not seen by a large number of east-bound drivers turning left on to Aberdeen. Walking across this intersection twice today I witnessed six vehicles make illegal turns, including two that honked and then angrily swerved around a vehicle obeying the law.
Because of the ineffectiveness of this sign, this intersection is dangerous to:
1. Oncoming (west-bound) traffic on Mt. Auburn
2. Pedestrians crossing the north side of Mt. Auburn
3. Drivers obeying the sign who are subject to angry behavior from those who ignore it.
I believe a good solution is to add a Red Left Arrow that is illuminated at all times that the green left arrow is off.
Brattle St & Harvard Sq Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Mid-Cambridge
Especially during rush hour, the roads through Harvard Square need to be closed to vehicles. There are way too many pedestrians and cyclists trying to get to the MBTA stop and the sidewalks are way too narrow.
Until this is done, the city needs to post multiple crossing guards to keep people safe, as well as have a police office on hand to ticket drivers who run lights and do not stop behind the stop line. It'd also be good if a tow truck can be on hand to remove cars blocking crosswalks and bike lanes. The City's negligence could lead to serious injury or death if action isn't taken swiftly.
146-150 Alewife Brook Pkwy Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
Dear Cambridge Traffic Parking and Transportation Staff,
I wanted to alert you to the traffic situation that has been created by the new "No Turn On Red" sign at the intersection of Rindge Ave and Alewife Brook Parkway. Since that sign has been installed, during high traffic-volume times, traffic is now backing up from Alewife Brook Parkway all the way back to Mass Ave. That's nearly a mile of cars sitting in traffic barely moving.
This is also causing traffic to back up onto the side streets that feed onto Rindge Ave.
This adversely effects commuters, school buses, pedestrians, children on their way to school, crossing guards, curbside collection workers, and people with air quality issues.
I left my house at 7:30 this morning, and traffic was already backed up nearly to Mass Ave because of that new sign.
I'm hopeful you can remove the sign and find another pedestrian safety solution at that intersection that doesn't back up traffic so badly.
Thanks very much for considering this.

57 Otis St Cambridge, MA, 02141, USA - East CambridgeThe dumpster in front of 57 Otis Street is overflowing with garbage. The permit holder is allowing debris to pile up on the sidewalk and surrounding area (see photo). The overflowing dumpster is no longer just an eyesore; it has created a rat problem, and it should be addressed by the city before it gets any worse.

This entire area is being used on a daily basis as a bathroom. Urine is often visible and area smells like it too.
Thank you for power washing in the past- it absolutely helps.
Please do whatever you can to help. There are a group of people that are using this area to loiter and have been doing so for over a month now. They drink, yell, and are intimidating to people walking by to get to the library and also to use the sidewalk. This area needs to be closed up permanently. It is a waste of city resources and finances to have to continually deep clean this area.
In the meantime, please clean.
Can we also request to have police put this area on their watchlist.

I have fumed over Comcast often in the many years I've lived in Cambridge - over their pricing, lack of flexibility with bundled packages, overpriced internet-only service, etc - but I just realized tonight that SeeClickFix might know EXACTLY where to route this issue!!!
WHY is Comcast the only option we have for residential internet here in Cambridge?? Isn't this the exact definition of a monopoly?? And why is Verizon FiOS not here yet, which might give us some options and thus - leverage - for residential internet??
I am REALLY tired of the endless incremental increases in my bill, the $9.95 added to my bill for (what is supposed to be FREE) broadcast stations, the almost-equal cost for internet only if I want just that and not cable or phone...
What branch of our City is in charge of this, and when will it change?
282 Concord Ave Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9There is a sidewalk/curb dip like a driveway used to be here (but there is no driveway) in front of House of Chang. The street signs all say 2 hour parking, but the business owners claim this spot on the street is a "private" spot for their business (delivery driver) and put out a cone stating as such. We are nextdoor neighbors and need to park on the street by our house. Can someone tell us if this in fact a private spot/"driveway"or if it is public street parking? I see people get confused about it all the time.

2579 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North CambridgeHello. I live at the intersection of Alewife Brook Parkway and Mass Ave in North Cambridge. With so much new traffic in the entire Cambridge area I realize how hectic things are bound to get. However, there are many families that live at this intersection and it is almost becoming impossible to cross to the other side of Mass Ave (onto the side with the bus stop) at the last pedestrian crossing before you reach the traffic lights and cross into East Arlington. I am wondering if it would be possible to install either another traffic light in this area or a blinking yellow light at that crosswalk to protect the safety of the families that live in this area. I no longer feel comfortable bringing my young children across this crosswalk. Also the cars do not always understand to stop at that last intersection before the lights at which you are supposed to receive a $100 fine for blocking the intersection. This is where many families need to turn in to get to their homes and it is blocked frequently by very angry drivers honking their horns because they don't either see the sign or understand what to do. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help make this area of North Cambridge safer for families and address the above issues. Can you please direct me to a person that could help understand this issue more and perhaps intervene? Thanks.
