This was posted on face book today by a B Street resident:
Who is suppose to pick up trash along streets in downtown Fayetteville? They are not doing their job. Who is suppose to maintain sidewalks in downtown Fayetteville? They are not doing their job. The sidewalk in front of 309 B St. is a hazard to pedestrians & wheelchairs due to layers of packed dirt & leaves & limbs. I know because today Hubby & I collected a huge amount of trash from 309 B down to School. We're in our 70's & I've had 2 recent falls. This is deplorable. Help city employees-where are you?

A representative came out to the area several weeks ago and began repairing the potholes but left during the repairs and never came back.

The traffic moving towards downtown, coming down the hill is incredibly fast and dangerous for that crosswalk location. Traffic has the option of either going straight on Hay Street, or take the curve right on Franklin Street towards the Cape Fear Medical Building. Pedestrians walking on the South side of the street are required to cross Franklin Street to continue walking. The extreme angle of the curve combined with the speed of traffic, make this an extremely dangerous crosswalk. Some sort of pedestrian marker/ strobe signage should erected in order to keep walkers safe and drivers aware.
