I hope the city plans on taking down this BLM sign before this polling station opens.

Hello - when riding contraflow on Brattle street into this intersection, it just dumps you head on into oncoming traffic. Turning traffic is unaware there is a contraflow bike lane and there is no engineered flow for bikes to safely cross and enter traffic. It is unclear who even has right of way. Since it seems like this area is being reevaluated for bike lanes, can this be addressed?

I love the shared streets - I've been walking a lot to get exercise since the pandemic started, and I appreciate having a place where I can keep a distance from other pedestrians (very difficult otherwise in the heart of Cambridge) while still getting my exercise. I'm conscientious about other street users and walk towards the edge of the street to leave plenty of room for cars and cyclists to get through. I think most other users of the streets, including drivers, have also been conscientious in their use, but today I was harassed by a driver when walking on Harvard Street, who yelled for me to get onto the sidewalk since there wasn't a nearby pedestrian on the sidewalk at that time. (There was also another car further down the street that zoomed by much faster than the 10 mph speed limit, although overall I've seen cars moving slowly on these streets which I appreciate.) I wonder if this harassment was a result of poor understanding of the shared streets by the driver, and if so, perhaps clearer signage or barriers would help.

Daily sidewalk obstruction by people waiting outside Urgent Care, standing too close together, not social distancing, spread over sidewalk. Passersby must walk in street to avoid them and observe social distancing.

More than a dozen young trees planted within the past year in front of, behind, and on the sides of the new King Open School at 850 Cambridge St. are dying because they have not been watered. None of the trees have water bags at their base. The grass around the trees is also dying because, unlike at the adjacent Donnelly Field, no sprinkler system has been installed. Can you please water the trees, add bags at their bases, and install a sprinkler system for the grass, or at least water this newly laid sod occasionally?

Bands/musicians have been playing and singing not wearing masks on Brattle St Plaza (beside Brattle Florist). Why is this allowed?!! For example, 4 piece band singing on plaza on Tues, Nov 10, 2020 from 5 pm to after 6 pm. This also occurs on other days of the week, usually Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; late afternoon into evening. This has been occurring since September but not every day. This area is also near a T entrance and exit. A crowd gathers and does not distance. No bands nor musicians should be allowed at all! Masks or not this should not be allowed. Please stop this. No police in the area when we see this. Thank you.

I called DPW and was told to submit this request. Since the Cambridgeport School has been closed due to C-19, there has been an increase in illegal activity around the school including an attempted break in at the school and people congregating without masks/social distancing. There is also an increase in broken bottles and trash. I am one of the neighbors. We would like to request temporary fencing (high not low) to block off the back of the building. Please do not block the parking lot as some neighbors use it. You may also want to block access to the playground if the City plans to keep it closed as it is used almost daily although not much - usually young children with a masked adult. (The one time there were young teens there without masks/social distancing, I did call the police as I was worried about their health and the health of their families.) We have been in touch with CPS staff member Vedad Konjic about the fencing; he tells us that DPW manages the grounds, not him (he is the Facilities Manager who works with us on a regular basis.). Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Just curious at what point does CHA step in here and help with the situation. People keep saying not to call the police which is odd to me yet the CHA is just allowing their residents to light off fireworks day and night? The non obnoxious people of the neighborhood are getting pretty tired of it and it's clear where the issue is coming from.

Multiple rats seen every day in the garbage shed and backyard. The trash bins are often left with the lids open. I have to go through their shed to leave my house and I am terrified to do it after dark. Has been going on for more than a month and the property management won't do anything, even after I let them know of the situation.
  • 137 Hampshire St Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Wellington-Harrington
While on Hampshire at Elm Saturday 8/15/20 around 10:40am I saw two police officers directing traffic with many construction workers and pedestrians nearby (definitely within 6 feet) and neither police officer was wearing a mask. They also weren't enforcing the mask requirement to those who walked by without a mask on. This is truly absolutely unacceptable. Can civilians issue violation tickets to police officers for failing to follow the governor's orders requiring masks in public?

For the past two days there have been one or two highly aggressive and literally obsessive birds that are nonstop dive bombing and attacking dogs and to some extent people now that the dog park has reopened.
It may well be a nesting pair, but I was there for an hour or two and took at least 11 pictures of what looked like mockingbirds repeatedly dive bombing my dog when he simply walked mellowly around to sniff things, greet other dogs, lie quietly next to me or drink water.
They also attempted to dice at me and other people and dogs in the park and were constantly flying between one end of the the park and another.
There was absolutely no provocation from any of the dogs and mine hated the heat so was extremely low energy and quiet. They came over swooping at me and him when we were just sitting on the agility ramp. They seemed to claim the entire park and followed him around wherever he went.
Can their nest be located and moved to a quieter area with less traffic or the aggressive birds be relocated or given some sort of rehoming in a forest or tranquilized?
    They are quite a nuisance.
I'm happy to post all 11 pictures of them harassing my poor large dog all around his face and back at different angles and different places of the park with different time stamps to show how determined and aggressive they were. Plus when they were dive bombing me and other people and dogs I missed a bunch of photos opportunities.
