Notified About

  • Cambridge St & Hampshire St Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Wellington-Harrington
Hi there, I'm really concerned about the safety at the Cambridge/Hampshire/Beacon intersection since the Cambridge St. outdoor dining one-way was put into place. I love the outdoor dining, but I'm noticing that both cars and pedestrians are taking risks they weren't taking before. I know this intersection is tough and human behavior is hard to predict.
In the last few days, I've seen many more cars trying to take left turns onto Cambridge and Antrim streets, even with the No Left Turn signage. I watched four bikers yesterday get caught in front of the bank in between two streams of cars with no way to continue safely. Stranded in the middle of the intersection until a pause in traffic.
With the left turn yield at Prospect and Hampshire being the only left turn onto Prospect now that Cambridge is closed, that traffic is now baking up Hampshire to Inman St., causing folks turning left onto Inman to get stuck between oncoming cars. I have no solutions to offer other than manning the intersection with an actual human traffic guide, or doing additional public education around following the traffic laws there. Thanks for listening!
  • Alewife Station Access Rd Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
People are launching fireworks all night every night in this neighborhood, and very often from within Russell field. These are scaring pets, preventing sleep, and potentially affecting people with PTSD. The police don't seem to be able to prevent this so maybe a non-police solution might work such as more lighting, an audible alarm that can detect fireworks explosions and warn people that the police are on the way, or even cameras to identify and fine people who are doing this. This is a major nuisance, please try to address it somehow.
  • 34 Orchard St Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
Very loud motorcycle starts up, and accelerates, loudly, down Beech and then Elm. Every weekday morning at around 6 am. Request that Police check his muffler. It's clearly in violation of noise regulations.
  • 117 Thorndike St Cambridge, MA, 02141, USA - East Cambridge
This morning at 11am, a new "Tow Zone: No Stopping" sign was installed outside 117 Thorndike St. It is placed about 25 feet from the intersection and completely removes a parking space. There was never a sign here before and it doesn't seem necessary, especially as it limits parking in a crowded area where parking is difficult. We would like for this sign to be removed.

  • 1400 Cambridge St Cambridge MA 02139, United States - Mid-Cambridge

  • 23 Line St Cambridge 02138 United States - Mid-Cambridge
Construction at this site regularly parks on sidewalk completely obstructing the sidewalk for pedestrian traffic. At least one neighbor in the immediate vicinity is mobility challenged and this ongoing sidewalk obstruction is a clear ADA violation. Has been occurring for weeks. Please address immediately.
  • Albany St & Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - The Port

Lane markings on Mass Ave westbound between Albany and Vassar are nearly invisible, especially at the Albany St intersection. They were not restored after utility work last year.

Drivers going towards Boston (eastbound) on Mass Ave don't seem to realize there's only one lane, and often intrude on the westbound left turn lane. This is a huge collision risk.

  • 1 Broadway Cambridge, MA, 02142, USA - East Cambridge
Somehow a sign was sheared from it's base directly in front of the One Broadway entrance, causing a trip hazard. We've put a cone over it to bring attention to it. But it is exposed, sharp metal
  • 55 Stearns St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
Hopefully Stearns becomes a shared street soon so pedestrians can share the road as much as this car likes to share the sidewalk.
