Traffic Engineer for the City of Cambridge

Notified About

  • 150 Cambridge Park Drive Cambridge, Massachusetts - North Cambridge
I would like to submit a complaint about the daily traffic jam on Cambridge Park Drive. One road does not suffice for the employees & (now) residents that use this road during open & close business hours. Is there a plan to alleviate the congestion?
  • 150 Cambridgepark Drive Cambridge, Massachusetts - North Cambridge
We have seen an increase in cars driving on the wrong side of the road on CambridgePark Drive. A pedestrian was hit about a month ago and this activity seems to be increasing. I'm not sure if there is a way the city can put a slow-down signs at the crosswalks? Light them up more? Someone may get seriously hurt.
  • 2177-2201 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
On morning of 10/22/18, left turn signal from westbound Mass Ave onto westbound Rindge Avenue was not working.
  • Albany Street And Pacific Street Intersection Cambridge, MA - Cambridgeport
This intersection has a raised brick "crosswalk" but no painted white stripe lines. The result is that cars driving down Albany rarely yield for pedestrians in an area with a large student population.
  • 87 Cambridgepark Dr Cambridge, MA 02140, USA - North Cambridge
Reporting encampment to be dispersed. Previous encampments have deposited significant litter and make walking the trails unsettling(since someone has claimed the area as their house).
  • 23–99 Dickinson St Cambridge 02139, United States - The Port
This new marking on Broadway has cyclists in the door zone it’s too narrow and it was so much better before when we had the sharrows because traffic in this area moves slowly ...people jump in and out between cars and cross the street in this commercial area, so to be pushed over into the cars is really dangerous
  • Intersection Of Green And Hancock Cambridge, Massachusetts - Riverside
Driving down Hancock and making the crossing across Green street is often difficult. The streets are narrow and the parking tight which makes the visibility at the crossing blind, particularly if a large vehicle is parked. So when it's at its worst you have to just eek your way into the intersection and hope a car is not coming down Green which itself has no stop sign. This is one spot I've often wished there were a stop sign on Green. There's already a sign post for do not enter signs, so adding stop signs on the opposite sides of the same posts seems straight forward.
  • Punjabi Dhaba 225 Hampshire St, Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Wellington-Harrington
With the construction of Inman square, is it possible for the city to ban on street parking in the area instead of closing the bike lane (Beacon/Hampshire)? It seems more dangerous to have signs blocking the bike lane forcing cyclists to merge in with traffic, yet allowing on street parking on the narrowed street. In addition, some cyclists are now riding on the sidewalk to bypass the congestion affecting pedestrians. This seems to contradict the sentiment of the new law passed by the city to increase the safety of cyclists and vulnerable road users.
  • 413-455 Main St Cambridge, MA, 02142, USA - Mit
There is no longer a No Turn On Red sign from Main Street east to Ames St south. There has always been one in the past, but it was not reinstalled with new traffic lights. See Google Streetview: https://goo.gl/maps/eA2n6rFftkG2. This is a high pedestrian area which should not allow right on red.
  • Pearl Street Cambridge, Massachusetts - Cambridgeport
The major snow emergency routes throughout Cambridgeport (Putnam, Magazine, Pearl, Brookline) have barely been plowed! I am shocked not to have seen a snow removal vehicle since early Friday morning. Compared to other parts of the city, nearby cities (e.g. Watertown) and Cambridge's historic effectiveness at ensuring streets are passable, the Cambridgeport neighborhood seems to have been forgotten this week. There will certainly be problems once school buses are trying to navigate tomorrow, and this should be anticipated and avoided.
  • 1922 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge 02140, United States - North Cambridge
Please repaint the crosswalks on Mass Ave near Porter Square. It’s been weeks since the road was repaved, and now holiday madness is upon us. It’s already too dangerous to cross the road, and it’s only going to get worse. The city is at risk of a lawsuit, or worse. The crosswalks need to be put in NOW.

2235 Highway 2a Cambridge, Massachusetts - North Cambridge

    Hello Seeclickfix Folks,

Not sure what can be done in this particular instance but I know many people (myself included), who have almost been struck by cars that refuse to stop for pedestrians in the Mass Ave crosswalk closest to Day St. I've lived in this neighborhood since 2006 and I'll have drivers not see me, drive around me, or accelerate at me (!) between 1-3x/week. I believe that drivers on Mass Ave have often just waited at a lights Dover St (southbound) or Rindge Ave (northbound) and are anxious to make it through the next set of lights without stopping.

I finally had to say something when I witnessed a disabled woman stranded on the median between the north and southbound lanes this past weekend.

Any effort to remedy the situation would be greatly appreciated!
