Private fence on Oakwood city ROW
, reported at 200 Oakwood Ave Nw Huntsville, AL 35811, USA.
There is a private fence right up to the curb for half a block on Oakwood. I see pedestrians walking in the road, on busy Oakwood. This is very dangerous! The 2 blocks between Virginia and Meridian has no sidewalk on the northside of the road and people walk to the gas station mart on the north corner of Merdian. Why is there a half a block of private fence on city ROW, right to the curb? That is illegal as well as very dangerous for pedestrians!

Because the people that own the Kildare mansion next door also own this property and they think they can do whatever they want with fencing. This fence does need to be removed from the city right of way, please make the owners move it back out of the city right of way, the posts for the fence are also dangerous for vehicles if there was an accident along this part of Oakwood.

I know they built a giant privacy fence in front of the giant house on Kildare, but it was on their ROW. The fence at the curb of Oakwood in on city ROW and should be removed, as it posed a dangerous situation for pedestrians and traffic on busy Oakwood Ave.

The posts are all the way against the street curbing. Doesn't the right of way extend past the street curbing?

Normally the right of way does extend past the street curb. However, in this area the right of way includes all 5 lines of Oakwood Avenue from back of curb to back of curb. This area of the right of way has not been extended since the original plat of 1961. Zoning Administration
