Description

Montana Street at 2820 Montana St and 3400 Coolidge Avenue is in bad shape. Several depressions and potholes. Some cars swerve and brake suddenly causing a dangerous situation.

OAK 311 has received this issue. Your service request ID is #937523. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Yes!!! I agree about MONTANA St. I was sorry to see that it wasn’t on the repaving list. Potholes keep happening.

It's a shame that with all of the property taxes paid by homeowners the city can't do the simplest of maintenance within the city. All of these new complexes that are somehow labeled "afforable", yet they can't take care of what we currently have. Oakland has officially become a slump city and an embarrassment. City officials are an embarrassment. All of Oakland roads are garbage, and have become dumps. These potholes are everywhere. Do your job Oakland. The residents and homeowners responsible really need to come together to demand an itemized list of where our money is going. $435M ?? It's a problem that has become a crisis from neglect for YEARS which is why the # of become so huge. This did not happen overnight.
