When traveling on Yale Ave. When getting to the light at the Parks dept. the trip doesn't always work and you have to wait until a car comes from the oppiste direction to get the light to change. Backing up and going over the trip again sometimes works- needs to be looked at has been ongoing for several months

The "trip" is via camera detectors. I will have the signal engineer assess this as he can make changes remotely from the control center at 200 orange.
Perhaps the issue is the "detect box" as it relates to the bike lane?? As with any detector system the cars have to be pulled up to the stop line and in the travel lane. However, with the cam detector vs the in-ground loop, this detect area can be modified very easily - however there will always have to be assumptions that cars are in the legal/correct spot at the intersection. Occasionally, to get cars into the correct position, signage and/or striping has to be more explicit. (This is an issue at Central & Rt 34 for example as the loop detector was moved forward but the stop line wasn't repainted and it has been but is now very faded and doesn't match the yellow line leading up to it. This intersection is W. Haven and State DOT responsibility by the way.)

The timing of stop lights in Westville seems to be a recurring issue. Greg I bet you have a cut/paste answer all geared up nowadays.
Would it be unreasonable to ask the city to spend an afternoon and reset the lights at Fountain/Alden, Central/Fountain, Yale/Edgewood, etc..? I don't know how they were initially set up after the construction but something is amiss.
Greg, re: Central/Rt 34, I opened a related ticket http://www.seeclickfix.com/issues/72794. That's a dangerous intersection.
Thanks

The light trip seemed to work today - I also spotted the camera today. I'm going to see if it is still working over the weekend and then close the issue if resolved.

Nope, sorry to report still having problems. I tried going to the left and right of the center travel lane and pulling past the stopline- maybe the camera lense is dirty or the sensor isintermittently malfunctioning ??
I don't expect it to change the moment I get to the stopline, but it used to trip like the other side - within 5-15 seconds of stopping depending on where the light cycle was, it was working fine in the fall.
