What's with the shameful condition of Telegraph Road and surrounding city-maintained areas within Detroit. It’s clear this major roadway has been neglected for far too long, and the consequences are impossible to ignore.
City grass is completely overgrown, making sidewalks impassable, blocking visibility, and signaling blatant neglect. In some areas, the grass looks like it hasn’t been cut in months.
Trash, debris, and litter are scattered along the curbs and medians — an eyesore and a public health hazard.
Storm drains are clogged with garbage and plant overgrowth, causing dangerous flooding during rainstorms. This isn’t just unsightly — it’s a safety and infrastructure issue.
Telegraph is a major corridor for residents, workers, and visitors — yet it looks like it’s been abandoned. Other cities manage to maintain public areas with routine care. Why can’t Detroit?
This kind of neglect reflects poorly on city leadership and disrespects the people who live here. We deserve clean, safe, and properly maintained streets — not third-world conditions along one of our busiest roads.
Please explain what the City of Detroit plans to do about the filthy, uncut, and flood-prone conditions along Telegraph Road. The longer this is ignored, the worse it gets.
