The increase of accidents I've seen are exactly why a light is needed. In a perfect world common sense would prevail, but obviously that's not going to happen. People who make left turn off of 13 risk an accident daily. Fact.

This area is really busy during the school year with young drivers trying to pull out on Jefferson after school, and to make a left hand turn onto 13 Mile Road before school. It's hard to pull out into oncoming traffic as it is, (especially in the winter months) and with the amount of traffic on Jefferson creates backlogs on 13 Mile Rd and on Jefferson. A traffic light is desperately needed for everyone's safety.

also need more speed enforcement on 13, jefferson, and masonic, seems that folks can't read the speed limit sign.

If the light is in operation only during school arrival and dismissal, I might support it. But all other times, I've never experienced an issue turning left onto Jefferson. I've never been at the intersection when school lets out, so perhaps it is a valid issue - at that time only.

The exit from the school parking lot to Jefferson needs to be closed and then a light at 13 makes really good sense. I have been sideswiped twice by escapees shooting out of this exit and the School Board and school could care less. At least Kennedy MS puts folks out to help control the flow.

Wow. Even in off-hours, this intersection is bad. Making a left turn from 13 Mile onto Jefferson is difficult to time. Many people pulling boat trailers try and make this turn, and back up traffic.

I agree with 16(guest). Why?? There aren't half as many students going there as there were 25-30 years ago. The problem is irresponsible drivers! a traffic light won't fix ignorance! the recent surge in traffic there has to do with people, with no patience, trying to avoid the Harper construction.

Just another reason why a light is needed. If you have a light, none of these "ignorant" drivers have to rush a left turn off of 13 Mile. Also this problem was posted well before the construction started on Harper so that point is moot.

Nothing major has changed in the area to require a light. There isn't a new strip mall; no new gastion; absolutely nothing, other thatn a decline in scholl enrollment. No light needed

So your saying the increase in accidents and near misses means nothing since nothing was built near there? Makes sense.

I lived at 13 and Jefferson my whole life!
Once Harper is done things will go back to normal.
There is no need for a light.
