What's the problem with a boat in someone's yard? Do you have a picture to post? Is it falling apart or does someone just have a boat in their yard and you have a thing against boats. After all one boat a marina does not make.

Has the boat been there forever? Have you even TRIED asking the owners about it?

I've driven by and seen this boat, it's not your regular little boat for a lake, this is a huge power cigarette type boat. It's been there most of all last year and it doesn't look as if it's going to be used this year either. It certainly doesn't belong in someone's residential driveway though. It is covered and on a trailer and can be mover to a better location, but I don't think the owner cares to pay to store it. I'm not sure if there's a law that can legally make them move it. I know where I live we can't have anything like that in our driveways, and we own our property and house too. Something like this vessel IS an eye sore and should be moved, but then again I don't know the laws pertaining to this particular situation. Like another person has said, a call to city hall or public works can give a better answer to this "problem".........

I think this is a less of issue than people who have furniture/junk on the front lawn for months. Many people take their boats on trailers to boat launches and keep them in driveways--I see many boats in the neighborhood. If a boatr is blocking a sidewalk, then maybe something can be done, otherwise there is not much that can be done.

Finally someone with a little common sense posted on here. Thank you Ridge Rd Resident. I don't see a problem with someone having THEIR boat in THEIR driveway. What's next? You have an RV in your yard. Get rid of it. Wait there's only two drivers in that house but they have three cars; you better get rid of one. Find some real issues to complain about. Anonymous looks so petty here.

It's called private property people. Jeez.. Wish I had a boat to store in my driveway.

Where should they put the boat ? With the economy and fuel prices the way they are, ALOT of people have pulled their boats from their marina slips and are storing them on their property until they can afford to enjoy them again.. Do you have any idea how expensive it is to keep a boat at a marina? If people cant afford the gas to take it out on the water, they are probly waiting for their financial situation to get better so they can bring it back to the marina. Or should they be forced to sell it because you dont want to look at it???.. People just cant afford the luxuries they used to, and it is NOT AGAINST THE LAW to store your boat in your driveway. It is not an issue with zoning or with public works. Educate yourself on the laws . If you dont like it dont look.If its not blocking views of traffic, the sidewalk or leaking fuel all over there is no reason for them to move it. Besides it sounds like their neighbors are being petty.. or jealous.. can we save this site for actual problems. Im sure there are things about your property your neighbors dont like, be glad they have the respect to mind their business or talk to u rather than posting it on the internet...

It is within a home owner's rights to keep a boat on their property.
Erosion of my basic property rights is more worrisome to this home owner than the appearances of someone else's home.
Suggestion: join a condo club where you get all kinds of by-laws to keep you from doing what you want on your land.
