We have reason to believe there may be either a large sinkhole (that has now broken open) or an old septic tank or water tank hole that has broken open in the mouth of our driveway which is technically an alley.
Is this ever going to be addressed? It may look like a driveway but it’s technically owned by the city because it’s a closed alley. The city should be responsible enough to come look into the issue or know what’s underground before a car or person falls in a hole that breaks open.
Not to mention, it’s not fair for the city to pick and choose when it’s an alley and when it’s a driveway. When they want access to the transformer that’s in someone else’s back yard, it’s an alley. When they feel like ticketing me for parking in my driveway, it’s an alley. When something needs addressing or fixing, it’s a private driveway and there’s no funding. It’s ridiculous and doesn’t go unnoticed.
