These homeless hotspots along PPB seem to be ignored by the police, DPW and homeless advocates. Part of the reason paths were created was to eliminate unsafe and unsanitary encampments and to make it easy for police, DPW and homeless advocates to see where the issues are and do something about it. Rec & Park did their job. Now its time for other City services to find a way to step up for a solution. There have been numerous community requests for police to run ATV patrols along the paths first thing in the morning and last thing at night. That, combined with vigilance by DPW, might not solve the entire situation, but it would solve a lot of this issue.
fully agree.... but our supervisor leads the "it's not my problem" brigade. Anyone have suggestions on how we can pressure the various city teams to do their jobs?
