I suppose it would be over zealous if there wasn't any chance of the rains expected this weekend wouldn't wash the silt down the street into a street drain that leads immediately into the stream at Sylvan Circle. "Landscaping" usually doesn't involve heavy equipment, dump trucks, and massive earth movement. That's when it would be over zealous IMHO.

Some people believe the ordinances and laws do not pertain to them. Some don't care about the immediate effect is has on their neighbors. Some people are selfish.

Having gone and visited the "jobsite" for a second time attempting to remain objective, they technically should have erosion fence. It does appear that it is going to rain given our pop-up shower trend, so shame on the builder for not being prepared. However, given that there is a delivery of landscaping materials, pine straw and plants, it is clear that they are finalizing the landscaping and removed the silt fence to install sod. Since this appears to be new construction, my subjective interpretation is that it is being put under "Greedy Developers Suck" which allows us the right to hold them to the letter of the law. That said, SeeClickFix is being reduced to the 2015 version of Mrs. Kravitz, sending Code Enforcement on a wild goose chases to every project. A wise man once said, "Just because you have a hammer in your tool box, doesn't mean you have to use it." Anti-social media is great- ain't it?.
Land Development Inspector met with the landscaper and issued a notice of violation on Saturday 06/21/14. They have been directed to install silt fence.
SeeClickFix service request audit initiated. Issue ID 1137190 still in ACKNOWLEDGED status. Submitted request to Land Development to provide status update.
