I agree with this. It is very difficult to walk.

I agree 100 percent that the sidewalk is overgrown. When my daughter walked to school or to Giant at Hickory Ridge, she said it was difficult to stay back from the traffic which usually flys down the hill after the Freetown and Cedar light in route to 32. This is a safety concern that does not cost a lot to fix. Some drivers seem to text and drive perhaps thinking the area is not populated as I see their car veering left or right over the safety line. Thanks for helping resolve this safety concern. Last some neighbors walk to their place of worship and the lack of a cleared sidewalk is simply not safe.

Routine maintenance of the sidewalks including mowing and debris/dirt/snow removal is the responsibility of the abutting property owner.

Howard County Code Sec. 18.402. - Maintenance of sidewalks, driveways and sod.

(a) It shall be the duty and obligation of the owner of property abutting a public right-of-way to maintain the abutting sidewalk, driveway apron and sod or grass within the public right-of-way in such condition as to be safe for public use.

No improvements have been made to the sidewalk in the describes area. Conditions have worsened as snow plows have pushed more debris from the edge of the street up onto the sidewalk in multiple places to leave piles of leaves,needles and such on the sidewalk.

Half of the sidewalk is covered. It is not safe to walk.

I use this sidewalk, as do many other people, on a daily basis, both when it's still dark out in the morning and later in the day. It is a hazard that needs to be addressed. I would appreciate knowing who to contact about it, as this does not seem to be working.

Abutting property owners remain responsible for the removal of debris from these sidewalk under County code 18.402(a).

This has been brought up in the past and the owner of the property has done nothing to improve it.
