Yes nice timing. That accident was five houses down from mine. The driver hit the car into the next block in some one front yard. People do need to slow down. There are children on this street and alot of parked cars.

Two members of the town council used to have public email addresses but they changed them as soon as they won their election! Maybe we need to replace them like Mr. Smith suggests...

Good luck! They've literally told me it'll take AT LEAST one death to fix a similar problem in another part of town. They have no interest in making our streets safer, it seems.

This road is a main drag to bridge street. All the other streets, such as brandt, coolidgel, 15th and so forth do not have a red light. 16th street is a main hub. It still needs to be controlled. People think they can just run down this street like any other street that has a red light. If you go down brant street, and dont go the speed limit, you'll get pulled over. It happened to me. I was only going 5 miles over the speed limit. Our road needs to be patrolled.

Annette Kobler, what's really amazing is that the police could reach their monthly ticket quotas in a single DAY if they'd just patrol and control the traffic on 16th Street. But they seem to have no interest in making the street safer for some reason.

Of course they need to make their quotas! If they really wanted to meet them, They may want to consider patrolling 16th st then. It really upsets me that we pay taxes and none of it really goes where it should. Id like to know who's in charge of the patroll co-orrdinance and who his boss is?

The real shame is, the borough office has been told about his page by several different people and everyone there, including the esteemed Mayor Landis (apparently), don't care. Their reply is, "Well, if you want it fixed, do it yourself." What kind of answer is that???

An old man almost died this week when a speeding pick-up truck nearly hit his car as he was backing out of a driveway. I guess New Cumberland almost got their "one death required" to fix the problem. It's a real shame the town won't just do the right thing for the right reasons. It has to be about covering their butts after something bad has happened!

Good luck on getting this fixed. The boro council will not act until someone dies, preferably a child. It's just the way they are. The other option probably involves a large donation to the members of the council's campaigns. Maybe you could pass a collection plate. Tough luck, losers!

Considering the Boro of New Cumberland has been "watching" this issue for more than a year now, and they have not responded, I think that sums up their feelings for the people of 16th street.

Hey, they have their policy -- people have to die before they'll spend the $250 to FIX THE PROBLEM FOREVER. Your life isn't worth $250 to the New Cumberland Borough Council. Suck it up!
