Beschreibung
There is a need to add street paving at the intersection on NW 172nd Avenue located at 300 NW 172nd Avenue. This is the U-turn heading Northbound just north of Flannigan's and adjacent to the Goodyear/Martino tire store at the Silver Lakes strip plaza. There are large trucks from the Cemex plant, exiting the plaza and making right turns heading South on NW 172nd Ave. More importantly there is frequent U-turns being made from Northbound traffic wishing to head South and many of these drivers improperly judge their turns and plow into the grass swale that borders the sidewalk. This swale area has been and continues to be a disgusting eyesore of furrowed mud, puddles, rocks and bare of grass. This is a busy area and reflects poorly on my neighborhood and the City at large.
I reported this years ago and the parties entrusted to remedy this situation took the cheapest way out by placing pvc poling as deterrents for drivers to keep off the swale and sidewalk. It took only a few days for these poles to be run over and destroyed by cars making wide U-turns. There was no follow up or inspection and within months the situation was back to unsightly normal.
I hope the City will this time take more positive steps to ensure a proper and lasting resolution by paving an area of appropriated dimensions to allow for turns and U-turns, thus preserving the beauty and cleanliness of Pembroke Pines.

Jorge, Thanks for advancing this issue to engineering. There is a notice on this site that my stated concern has been "closed". I don't know how I'm supposed to interpret this so I'm reopening this issue until I get a more definitive response or clarification how my suggestion will proceed.
I went by the area of concern today and noticed that the turn into the plaza just south of the one in question has a curb. Perhaps an easy solution would be to build a similar curb at the problem site as a deterrent to careless drivers making their u-turns.
