Repairs have been going excruciatingly slowly for the past 10 years or more. That porch is incredibly dangerous. And has been for a very long time. The roof looks like it must leak. Patience with genuine efforts to repair is one thing. Ignoring blight and safety is another.

It is truly a problem house. Why does Carbondale insist on letting so many houses fall into disrepair? There is no excuse for the owners keeping this house so dilapidated and for the city to have let them for so long.

This complaint was filed June 1, 2022. So far the only people to comment on it are residents. Where is BNS (city staff)? Does the city have one set of standards for smallholders and private residents and another for larger landlords?

Staff has commented on house. Repairs are underway inside according to my inspector and will continue to the exterior. This house sat derelict for years before the current owner also.

The porch is an attractive nuisance which should be remedied immediately.
