Dear City of Ann Arbor Water Services,

My name is Samuel Schechtman and I have lived on Barton Shore Drive for the past 5 years. I wanted to reach out to you, and I am not sure if you are the appropriate contact, but I would appreciate any help and/or insight.

We have a trail that goes from our Barton Hills Village Community Area to the Barton Dam and Pond. Unfortunately, the gate on the trail has been closed. While I thought this was just closed for landscaping work, I have learned it is more of a permanent closure (as setup by one of our board members without asking other neighbors or the community). Throughout my time in the Village being able to walk to the pond has been an important and preserving activity. I know that many of my neighbors feel similarly and would love to have the opportunity to enjoy the park, pond, and dam again.

I would be happy to discuss options to unlock and open the trail gate back up.
