Description
I'm writing because this is the third time in a year I can't enjoy this park with my kids because of the annoyance caused by whoever rents the shelter at Island Park. Interesting, all of three has been an event associated to UofM. Maybe because UofM organizations could have access to more money and plug loud sound equipments without any restrictions or spread out across the park with chairs and tables without taking care of the garbage that is left... Last fall I had to leave because renters decided to do open karaoke and today the music was so high that we needed to scream at each other while being at the playground! And the smell from practicing "community" pot smoking! Today, the parking lot was a mess. No one was there to allow any other visitor to park. What the heck is this? Why the UofM doesn't use their spaces that pay no taxes at all? Why the City doesn't enforce limits to allow others to use the park while the shelter is rented? Why the City has a commercial signal attached to the shelter? As a resident and taxpayer I'm really annoyed by this.
