I have actually walked and driven up and down Summer Street to see if the Traffic Commission has put up any speed signage and the answer is “NO”. I could not make the last meeting but I was informed by a representative that the Traffic Commission was going to be proactive and put up signage, trim trees to display the speed signs but nothing is done. I don’t understand why you can’t put up like most towns a flashing speed sign which indicates how fast a person is going over the posted speed limit. Brockton is a city that is terrible and notorious for speeding, low riders, loud mufflers and the like. Absolutely terrible and people are getting away with it. People speed, drag race, impatient and have no consideration for others. Enough is Enough. Do something about the speeding and drag racing that is taking place on a daily basis between Summer Street (Trinity Village) and Grove Street.

Today is Wednesday September 14, 2021 5:03 PM. I am sitting on my balcony and observing the number of cars speeding like maniacs. Still the Department of Transportation has done absolutely nothing. NOTHING. What a wasted town meeting full of talk and no action. The department should be absolutely shame of its self. It really shows how much officials care about Brockton. Absolutely disgusting.

I feel like I have been reading these complaints for at least three years now. I do not understand what is going on behind closed doors, but as of now it seems like nothing. Roscoe, I feel for you and your neighbors. I have lived in Brockton since 1985. But I would have NEVER moved to this city 37 years ago if it was in its present condition. Never!

Your absolutely correct I have been sending messages to City Hall and the Traffic Commissioner for over 3 yrs about the speeding, drag racing that is going on Summer Street and Grove Street. There was a meeting months ago and I’m told that speed signage was going to be postponed. I made recommendation to post a flashing speed sign but to date behind closed doors nothing is being done. I keep asking that something is done before a tragedy but it goes in one ear and out the other. It’s absolutely ridiculous how this city going down. I do thank you for your concern and I hope you continue to keep posting on this site for change.

There still has been no speed signage, no flashing speed signs or anything to stop the speeding on the corner of Summer Street and Grove Street. It continues to be a speedway for all types of vehicles. Brockton Traffic Commission has done absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. I will take a tragedy before someone gets off the behinds and do something. People are just sitting behind their desk being paid by the taxpayers and nothing is getting done. It is absolutely disgusting. It make me sick at the stomach how neglect city officials are taking care of Brockton. I’ve been complaining for 3-4 years and nothing is being done. How sick is that. From the top city officials to the bottom is deplorable. DO YOUR JOB.

Ahhhh, I just looked up to see who this was assigned to in August - the Traffic Dept. Not known for it's timeliness; I know that first-hand. Don't you think this should have gone to the Police Dept. to ticket speeders or a city department that actually has the power to do something? I was disappointed to read even talking about this publicly in a "town meeting" has bore no fruit. I continue to feel bad for you and your neighbors. Maybe get a bunch of people to walk with signs saying SLOW DOWN! to get the city's attention to a serious problem? You might get on, or in the news, and REALLY get the city's attention.
