The city's bureaucrats and elected leaders, in all their wisdom, chose to repave Mt. View Place between Morris Road and Talbert Street. They even added a stretch of sidewalk to the Western edge of the road. They put up a retaining wall on the Eastern side of the street. It is odd that they did not maintain the width of the road across the entire block, but we in Ward 8 have learned to take what we can get from DC's elites. What is strange to us all, however, is the fact that the people that came and did the work took the time to move all the garbage in the street, including the decaying remains of an old sofa that was dumped in the road about six months ago, off to the Northeast corner sith Talbert Street. And guess what? The bits and pieces of that sofa remain there to this day! This is our city at work folks. We get a new road, but no one picks up the garbage they had to pick up to build the damned thing! I am closing this "issue," but my disgust with DC's elected officials remains. When are we going to see our city run in a way that leaves one thinking the lunatics are not in charge!? When are the people we send to office, over and over again, going to hold the people they are supposed to be managing for us accountable!? This kind of crap is simply unacceptable, and someone should be fired for letting contractors get away with this kind of silliness.
